What does securing IP have to do with their marketing schedule? Is this even based on what they did with the PS4?It will definitely be in February.
What was exactly a lie? The way he phrased it he was clearly in damage control, but I didn't really see a lie in his post.
That's not how it works.Our peak on paper is 272gb/sec. (68gb/sec DDR3 + 204gb/sec on ESRAM)
I think the bigger take away here is how the eff did Sony not already have this done...?
Of course, Sony already secured the PS5 trademark back in 2006, but this new application in Switzerland might hint at an imminent reveal.
That's not how it works.
Uhh, I'm not arguing otherwise? The poster asked what was a lie in the quoted post, and that one line stood out like a sore thumb, hence my reply.Yeah, erm, look... That was bollocks, and you know what? [...] This is just what companies do.
Yeah, erm, look... That was bollocks, and you know what? What Sony did with the PS3 was bollocks, too. Remember that 2tf or whatever it was? Remember the fp16 shit?
This SSD talk will all be bollocks as well, and will never really be seen, as I've talked about previously.
And don't get me wrong, Xbox will be saying other stuff soon that will be, you guessed it, bollocks.
This is just what companies do. They hype it up so that certain audiences are drooling. The idea is to sell sand to the Arabs, and if you can do that, you're a rich man.
It's standard practice to essentially talk about what COULD happen, rather than what WILL happen 99% of the time. It's all about the gorilla beating his chest, if you don't do it, it's bad optics.
For example, I COULD have a raging hard on that takes a nuns eye out, I mean, it's possible. It doesn't mean it's going to happen.
I don't like nuns.
The "PS4" trademark wasn't filed with IGE IPI until AFTER the console launched in Europe.
(Raises hand)I better hurry to the store to see if Jim Ryan pulled a sneaky on us and that thing actually is already on the shelves.
Anyone want a Cornetto from the store?![]()
Whas dis all about?
Dont fuck with us Tommy, whats up?
He's probably happy because he finally got an avatar.Dont fuck with us Tommy, whats up?
I find it hard to believe that Jason Schreier doesn't know when is the reveal and you somehow do.
Maybe he knows, but he doesn't want to tell anybody. For example he said many times, that he know what game are Rocksteady working on, but he want to let them reveal it as they want...In fact i don't believe he knows something about the reveal date.

It's nice to have that bit of attention. pretending you know something most don't.Then why the tease if he's not going to tell us?
Indeed i don't believe he knows something about the reveal date.
I mean, you can be. But being insider is not only about what you say but also about your reputation when you leak something. If Schreier leak something, you can be pretty sure, he has his sources. But if you choose to "leak" something you will be laughed at probablySo i can be an insider too? I know something but i can't tell you.

Is this true?
I have another theory that already talked about in here, and it even makes more sense, at the light of this rumored change of plans around 2017.As outsiders looking in we can only speculate about what is going on behind the scenes but I think it's a combination of the two scenarios you've painted here. Lets keep in mind back in 2015-16 Microsoft almost canceled Xbox altogether. Zhuge x had a tweet about it. So Sony being the market leader and all just decided to coast on third parties to carry the day. Fortunately for them they also happened to have an already big first party. And because of Microsoft seeming headed for the exits didn't feel the need to expand their first party much. On the contrary they closed 2-3 studios.
Then e3 2018, Xbox is back. Now, we don't have any idea how well funded Xbox is now, I think people exaggerate, but they are at least back to competitive 360 days in my estimation. Some of the smarter heads at Sony realized this and decided change was necessary. John kodera was pushed aside for jim Ryan who seems like an assertive guy. Layden was pushed out for whatever reason. Perhaps he was viewed as too complacent or Sony really wanted to put first pet titles on pc and he was against that. Who knows but there was behind the scenes drama.
All the meanwhile next generation is looming. Fortunately they Cerny again. It does sound like 2019 was the real date for the Ps5 but due to technology not being ready/affordable enough and rumors of Microsoft making a comeback and wanting a really powerful console plans were put on hold. With all that said no insider has claimed Sony is behind or playing catch up. But it does seem like to me like 2015 to 2017 Sony perhaps underestimated Microsoft attempting a come back and Nintendo's recent success.
Edit: One thing that lends credence to the whole changing the Ps5 in 2019 rumor is late 2018 and early 2019 we would get a new article a day about how Microsoft is set to dominate next gen. Then the wired article came out in April where Sony confirmed the cpu and ssd but played coy with the gpu, which almost a year later they still are. I think one of the reasons Xbox pr was so confident based off of these puff piece articles is that they thought Sony was planning on launching a half step ps4.5 in 2019. I do genuinely believe the Ryzen cpu and ssd announcement came As a surprise to them. It was e3 2019 where we heard lockheart was cancelled which says to me the "sandwich" strategy was no longer variable. For whatever reason lockheart may well be back in the cards about I do believe Sony made big changes to the Ps5 early 2019.
Well looking at the date of launch of Sonys streaming service, the Playstation Now, i think Sony started to get smart well before 2013 _ that would be the Ps3/360 generation _ so pretty advanced in time smart.i think they absolutely plan on going hardware-less....as they should. Streaming is 100% the future and they already have the infrastructure. Its a massive competitive advantage they have and should absolutely pursue it.
Dont be shocked if streaming takes over hardware the gen after this upcoming one. If Sony is smart then they will be looking to go hardware-less in the near future
Damn! Am I the only one here in their 40's? I NEVER thought I'd be 'that old dude' playing games. Then again, I kind of got into them late...PS2 but got hooked. I'm going to get a PS5 regardless of all the drama around "power" because of exclusives. BUT, if there IS a big and noticeable power difference I MIGHT get both. I'm kind of doubting that will happen though. Time will tell!
Yes, im 45 next month.Missed last 30 pages. So, any worthy news?
Wait a moment, did Jim just pulled a Sega on us?I better hurry to the store to see if Jim Ryan pulled a sneaky on us and that thing actually is already on the shelves.

Has the PS5 been publicly marketed yet though? We haven't even seen it yet.It already has a publicly marketed product tied to it though, hence the huge PS5 logo reveal that shook the world to its very core.

What's the definition of publicly marketed?Has the PS5 been publicly marketed yet though? We haven't even seen it yet.
I was thinking just that.If you join the dots you'll realise that TF is KLee.......
Lol why ?I was thinking just that.
