That picture somehow reminded me of the teaser picture Level 5 released long ago for the next Dark Cloud game...

Man, here's what I see.

FFXII = Massive city above ground featuring tall buildings.

Level 5 RPG = Massive city underground featuring tall buildings.

Tri-Crescendo RPG = Massive city underwater featuring tall buildings.

All in the same style, meaning..... none of them will ever come out! :lol

haha that's true! :lol

Tri-Crescendo?

Is this a dumb marketing alteration on Tri-Ace's part, or am I behind on some news?

Here's the website.

tri-Crescendo is the co-developer of Baten Kaitos w/ Monolith Soft, and did sound design for Radiata Stories, Star Ocean 3, Star Ocean: Blue Sphere, and Valkyrie Profile.

I kid, but It even looks a little like the tri-ace logo though, that's just strange.

Well, they were founded by the same founder :)

The babblefish translation of Deutsch there being bad didn't help much, either.

And I'm not quite sure why they would release an art poster about a next-gen RPG after Morrowind's jaw-droppers. Come on, tell us about the new project, then floor us with drool-inciting next-gen visuals; there's not even concrete story or platform info.

As far as I remember, tri-Crescendo is an off-shoot company made up of members from the original Wolf Team who eventually split up into Tales Co., tri-Ace and Camelot. Not exactly sure if this fact is right, but it's mostly musicians and technical artists that make up tri-Crescendo. Whether or not they are fully behind this new game, who knows but it seems to be their true "debut" as it were.

You're all wrong. Tri-Crescendo is simply Tri-Ace's sound team which went freelance. With Baten Kaitos they tried their hand for the first time in actual game design. Tri-Crescendo continues to provide support to Tri-ace in music and sound, while Tri-Ace has zero involvement with Tri-Crescendo's game design endevours. That's all.

Wow. Pretty soon the market is gonna be saturated with these futuristic-looking epic cityscapr RPGs. It will be fun to see which comes out first though :)

I'm betting on Level 5. They've shown to be the most reliable this generation. :D
