I would love to have spags back guy is a great DC.

Spags would be a great DC wherever he went, but he's clearly proven he's not cut out to be a head coach. Much like a Romeo Crennel or Mike Nolan.

Well Spags is young(er) so if he comes back, retools, and takes over from Reid I'd love it.

But knowing Reid if he did ever leave he would promote the long snapper coach to Head Coach or something.

How is Tony Sparano not fired yet? Someone explain this to me. I didn't even think he was that terrible of a coach before the season started, but he's definitely lost this team. Same goes for Jim Caldwell too.

Speaking of coaches who need to be fired, why is it I never hear about Spagnulo's job being in danger? Is it talked about and only really on rams websites or what?

What's the point in firing Sparano at this point in the season, except to put him out of his misery? They're not heading anywhere, and they probably don't have the candidate they want on their staff. As long as it looks like the Dolphin's are at least 'trying' they'll keep him on.

Well, to appease the fans I suppose.

Edit: Holy fuck, those are awful early CBS games. Going to take a pass on all 3 of those.

Fox games are mostly awful too. Ugh. Wish the NE/Pittsburgh game was early so I could watch it before the 49ers game. Minnesota/Carolina could be interesting, but instead I get to watch the Saints demolish the Rams, thanks Fox.

Have no hope in the Dolphins beating the Giants but if the Eagles win against the Cowboys and Skins lose as I expect them to against the Bills, the Eagles leapfrog to 2nd place in the division.

This game is the season for us. Of course they way things work if the Dolphins somehow pull off the impossible upset, watch the Eagles lay an egg against the Cowboys.

I wonder if they worked on or fixed any of the problems with the D during the bye week. With the new rules the bye week is not as helpful aside from rest to heal up.

at least the Sunday nighter (and potentially Monday nighter, division matchup) should be good this week. We will get to see either Romo or Vick fuck up, and that's always entertaining.

I bet it's at least 50% empty. lol, at $40 tickets in Buffalo being $200 in Toronto. Rogers loves dat money.

They better have, or DeMarco Murray's going for 350 on the ground on us.

How is the Toronto crowd? Are they vocally pro-Bills? Do they just sort of clap politely like the British? Will it be Redskins fans making the trip?

My hope is that Spags is fired at the end of the season, Perry Fewell moves onto a head coaching position like he wants and Spags comes home to the Giants.:)

Don't get me wrong, I like Fewell plenty but I loved Spags aggressive blitz scheme and I think it suits our personnel.

Because if one of these douchebags is fired, his replacement might actually motivate the team to win a game for him, thus destroying that team's chance at Luck.

Easier to stick with the cuurent dude, have him lose every game, and fire him the day after the season ends, thus setting up the "new coach, new QB" dream sequence.

No one wants to see if the Jags are for real??? Shame on you.

I get Miami and New York. I'm just north of the Jags-Texans area. Would love to see the Jags beat the Texans and the meltdowns that would ensue!

According to CBS its the Dolphins/Giants.

Probably more Giants fans out there, and to be fair, Texans will probably kill the Jaguars, so it's really not that much better of a match up.

They're pro-Bills, and a lot of people that go to games in Western New York come from across the border. However, that's mostly Fort Erie, St Catherines, Hamilton.

Took this from a Lions board I frequent. This is a collection of statistics of QBs from their 11th start to their 20th start, which Stafford just completed:

Matthew Stafford over that period -- 2,447 passing yards, 22 TDs, 5 INTs, on 61.28% completion

Peyton Manning over that period -- 2,637 passing yards, 21 TDs, 15 INTs, on 56.68% completion

Tom Brady over that period -- 1,748 passing yards, 16 TDs, 14 INTs, on 62.69% completion

Aaron Rodgers over that period -- 2,785 passing yards, 19 TDs, 8 INTs, on 61.68% completion

Drew Brees over that period -- 2,275 passing yards, 10 TDs, 12 INTs on 58.56% completion

Perhaps I've been a little harsh with my criticism, although he has looked like he has regressed this season with each game.

The difference is none of them had Megatron or someone his caliber.

Sometimes it comes down to the eye ball test and not pure statistics. If it looks like he's rushing throws, making poor decisions, and has happy feet, then he does. It doesn't always manifest itself in the stats within such a small window.

Wow, looks like another week of terrible games other than New England/Pittsburgh.

This past weekend was probably the worse weekend of NFL football I've ever seen.

One of the few sundays I get off and it was one of the worst weekends of football I've seen, and to top if off, no 49ers game, which made it demonstrably worse :(

Oh, I agree about that--none of those other guys had anything close to Calvin Johnson. But he's got ZERO run game to fall back on, unlike some of those guys.

He's not passing the eyeball test right now--he's rushing everything. Just thought the statistics were interesting.

Marvin Harrison was pretty damn good back then. His stats didn't really start taking off until Peyton showed up.

Did he have Harrison back then? I wasn't sure. I'll agree though, Harrison was really good back then.

All of the games look terrible.

Fixed.

NE/Pitt is the only game to pay a little attention to but I think Brady will end up taking an FMT on Big Ben even though I'll be cheering for the reverse to happen.

Minnesota and Carolina could be okay I guess.

edit: my snarky response was beaten 15 minutes ago! that's what I get for replying without finishing the thread ><

edit edit: Jerry Kill signed a 7 year extension with the University of Minnesota! Hahahahahahahaha

He did, he also had Edgerrin James in his prime. I think Stafford's troubles stem from a lack of run game like that, that being said throwing to CJ doesn't really require as much precision.

If we can hold New England to under 40 and the o-line plays decently it should be competitive.

It will also help if Hines sits out instead of gimping it around for 60 minutes and holding back the offense. If the young guys come through with him out it might be the beginning of the end for a legend.

Only took him 3 years to start 20 games! Maybe in another 3 he can start 20 more.

Random stats like this always felt a little pointless to me. Isn't it just as likely that we could find a bunch of QBs with comparable stat-lines to that who wound up busting out of the league a couple of years later?
I also still feel like if we'd been playing defenses that were on their toes just a little bit more, Stafford would have somewhere more along the lines of 10 interceptions rather than five. Quite a few balls have sailed over to DBs or linebackers that just flat-out dropped it and that's been skewing his impressive turnover numbers. He's been alright, but not stellar, and as Plinko said I think the pressure he's under with no running game and no blocking is causing him to regress.

Also, :jnc at T.O. getting absolutely snubbed by his workout invites.

You know, every Bears and/or White Sox fan I've ever met is a massive douche. EVERY one of them. You're not helping that anecdotal evidence.
