Nice to see Kordell's in regular season form.

No way, that's Kordell's postseason form. Regular season is competent. Kordell is playing the preseason as though it were the conference championship!

Maybe I should dig up the quote from a month or so ago from Kordell saying he knows he can be a starter in this league :(

True, I thought that after I posted.

I'll throw out my favorite Kordell standard, "It's not about Kordell. This isn't the Kordell Stewart Show."

Thanks for the Eli slideshow Bowser. However, one day in the future Eli will have a competent OL and you will rue the day you mocked him as the Giants run roughshod over your one hit wonder team.

Is there anything funnier than Ravens and Steeler fans cussing Kordell? I don't think so. Pace yourselves boys, it's barely mid-August. Just wait until Boller gets hurt again.

Hey, I'm not cursing Kordell. I'm hoping he plays. I'm hoping he plays a lot. That's a division rival there, I'd never curse out the best shot they have at screwing up the divisional title they deserve.

You aren't one of those people who actually thinks that Kordell can still be an NFL starter, are you? I didn't think you people still existed after last year in Chicago.

edit: Oh hell, I just heard on sportscenter(don't know if they said it during the game, I was flipping back and forth in the second half there) that Buckhalter is likely out for the season. Damn, maybe the Eagles really are going to stop running altogether.

Well, depending on how the season goes, I figure there's a good chance of rabid Ben or Tommy debates this year that won't allow much room for Kordell bashing. So we kind of have to get our final shots in now. :p Of course, when he plays like he did tonight, it is kind of too easy.

Right now I'm only swearing at Kordell.... don't force me to add you to the list. ;)

I think the love-hate relationship that Steeler Nation had with Kordell is fascinating. It's amazing how he would lead everyone on that he was the answer at QB and then completely melt down in important games.

Plus, he's the easiest target in the NFL. Think how many times somebody has said something derogatory about Kordell. The mind boggles.

Ravens fans, just think how good you would be with an above average QB. Think how good you would have been in '01. Again, the mind boggles.

Good question!

Watching the Giants struggle to reach last year's 4-12 record might be.

This discussion happened last week. Nobody who was a Steelers fan thought Kordell was a great QB. Very few thought he was even a good QB. Watching playoff games was a struggle because you just knew Kordell would go and fuck everything that the running game and defense worked hard to create.

There's a reason he is an easy target. He was an extremely overrated quarterback. Half the country was bitching and moaning about how Stewart just went to the pro bowl when he was benched, and then by week 8 the same people questioned aloud why he was still starting in Chicago. And now he's on one of our biggest rivals. It's hard not to mock them for picking him up(Although, he did generally play well against Baltimore. But in Steelers-Ravens games, everything you know goes out the window. Jamal doesn't play well, the Steelers do the exact opposite of what they do every other game, and it's almost always an ugly, ugly fight for the win).

As for why the Ravens fans are mocking him, ask Bears fans. They know all too intimately how it feels.

Tod Pinkston knocking Ray Lewis out of the play. He should commit suicide immediatly. :)

Anyway the eagles played a decent game. Mcnabb looked good considering he was under constant pressure. The Buckhalter injury hurts bad but Westbrook is our playmaker. Finding another runner to pound it in there shouldnt be to difficult. Hopefully our offensive line can get it together. Also Kordell Stewart is one of the worst Qb's I have ever seen.

Just thought I'd post Delhomme's statline cause he was TEARING shit up in just one half :p

Amazing.

And don't forgot his rushing TD either!

FEAR JAKE DELHOMME!

While the Giant's defense he was up against looked down right appaling at times, I think Delhomme is actually a much better QB than he's given credit for. People look at his stats from last year and right him off as average but he played most of the season under a very tight leash. After the show Delhomme put on in the second half of the SuperBowl against the Patriots defense I think he's in line for a great season as long as John Fox opens up the playbook.

Great attempt at humor with your lame quotes by the way. Maybe if you picked someone more deserving of ridicule (cough cough Dayne and his fumbling cough cough) then even you might sound like a funny guy. Now if you were trying to make me feel some regret that I'd been rooting for the Panther's through the NFC playoffs and Super Bowl last season then you're pushing in the right direction.

Here's a Panther fan's take on Delhomme.

He has looked great this pre-season, and throughout the post-season last year he was unreal.

Many people (i.e. Panther Fans) don't remember, and non-fans don't know, that Jake almost got benched around game 10 or so last year. He has a bad habit of throwing 2-3 passes a game that he wishes he could get back. That very pass reared it's ugly head against the Giants last night, throwing right into triple coverage. Luckily it was dropped, but he needs to drop that habit.

Jake is the man, I trust him completely as a fan. I was at the game against Jacksonville when he led us from 0-17 back to the win. But if he would just lose that feeling of needing to test the D, he could be a damn special QB. As he is, he's the best QB ever to suit up for Carolina.

He was one or two more bad throws last year from getting benched though, make no mistake about it.

That was total karma gone wrong. NFL rules are complicated, but there's no reason a ref should have blown his whistle prematurely on the first TD. That should have been our ball. The second I thought was karma making things right, but there clearly was a Panther in the nuetral zone. I guess karma manifested itself in the win, but RARELY do you see a back fumble twice on the goal line and still get a freaking TD.

Go Jags! Defense looking great! Kicking game looking awful as the first time though.:/

Did you see Del Rio's post-game interview? "Chandler - cut. Scobee - cut. And if anyone out there knows a kicker, drop me an e-mail..."

I'm starting to think Garrard might be a better pick than Leftwich haha, Byron's just looked confused out there each time.

Perhaps he's trying to work out why it isn't a touchdown when the receiver controls the ball and gets three feet down in the endzone. He's not the only one... Seems like it's not just the players who are making mistakes in the pre-season.

LOL iapetus. I didn't get to finish watching the game (had to stop before halftime unfortunately to go handle other business :(), but I was flabbergasted that the Jags kicker easily could have had the Jags up 9-0 before I stopped watching.

Oh, :| @ Griese. Looks like he'll be our 3rd string QB. Oh, and >:| @ Penalties. Steussie's facemask brings back a nice 20+ yd pass from Brad to Joey, that could have changed the first half a little. Bill Muir's got some 'splainin' to do....

How'd Simms and the backup D do? I'm assuming he got the bulk of the second half play.

EDIT: From what I got to watch, Jags seem to have a nice front 7 and your passing game was rather good.

Miguel

Jags have a great front 7. Last year against the Texans, they were knocking Carr down all day.

Simms is looking to be the #2 QB right now, as Greasy looks like Konex playing Madden out there.

As for my Texans.

After reading the McGahee article, I think Miami would do well to pursue him. He's went to U of Miami too, right? The fans would take to him too then. I think it's a no-brainer. Only thing is, I doubt Buffalo wants to let him go.

They surely wouldn't want to let him go to Miami, unless they could go ahead and rape Miami's defense :p

Of course, that's not even a possibility as Buffalo's defense is far too good to trade away a back like McGahee to improve. I still think they should start Henry, though. His fumbles went way down last season, and he's got 2800 yards rushing in his second and third year in the league. He's a top tier back in the NFL if he drops his fumbles again, and McGahee is still a question mark.

WTF M8! Booker traded to the Dolphins for Ogunleye?!

http://msn.foxsports.com/story/2682788

As much as I like Booker, I think this is a great move on the Bears part. We are stacked at the WR position. I'd hate to get rid of Book but damn we need a defensive lineman who can rush like crazy...!!!! Angelo don't blow this deal!

My Prediction: The Eagles will make it out of the preseason with 4 healthy players.

I think I need a midnight green version of that crying blob from BuddyChrist.

I didn't get a chance to see the game but listened to the 2nd quarter on the radio, which I might add can be better than actual TV. The guys on 94.1 are fuckin great. Sometimes, it's better to watch the game on TV on mute with the radio on in the background.

BTW, ESPN's replays were they get the clips from local radio guys calling the great plays is a great addition to the highlight reels you see on Sportscenter.

Is there a clip of the J.R. Reed runback? Was it a punt or a kickoff? I couldn't tell as I was on the Jersey turnpike beeping the horn and yelling out the window doing 80mph to tell. Hopefully he'll add a big threat to the Iggles. All the guys on the radio could say was 'he just won the starting spot.' I need that clip.

Well, the Steelers secondary is intact against the Texans tonight. Let's hope this doesn't get too ugly.

Also, unfortunately, Bell is out for the game. Haggans I don't much mind being gone, but Bell is an interior backer and a great player. Can't get a real look at the defense without him.

edit: I love you, Hines Ward. Please never leave me.

There was a clip on the eagles message board but apparently it crashed after the injury report was updated. Trotter and Reese are the new ones go to down.

Wow, Cincy's first string is up on New England's first string 14-0.

Take that in for a second.

Cincinnati's first string.

Well that's just kind of mean that the Steelers are keeping their first team defense in. First their offense keeps the Texans starters off the field the entire game, and now their defense is going to go ahead and take the backups out of the game by keeping the starting defenders in.

Random updates:

Cincinnati's up 28-3 on New England; Henry got hurt in the Titans game (maybe this will allow McGahee to be the starter?); Colts WR Walters breaks his left arm against Jets

The deal is done!

Dolphins, Bears complete trade for Ogunleye, Booker

By Alex Marvez

MIAMI -- The Dolphins and Bears have completed a trade that would send defensive end Adewale Ogunleye to the Chicago Bears for wide receiver Marty Booker and a 2005 third-round draft choice.

The deal is contingent upon Ogunleye passing a Bears physical, which isn't expected to be a problem. An NFL source said Ogunleye is slated to sign a six-year, $33 million contract that will pay him $20 million in the first three seasons.

Ogunleye led the AFC in sacks last season with 15, but the Dolphins were unable to make progress in signing him to a contract extension during the offseason. Ogunleye was engaged in a lengthy contract holdout, prompting the Dolphins earlier this week to seek a trade.

Booker was one of the NFL's most productive receivers in 2001 and 2002, catching a combined total of 197 passes for 2,260 yards and 10 touchdowns. Booker had 52 catches for 715 yards last season and missed three games because of injuries.

The Dolphins were interested in acquiring Booker in light of the season-ending injuries suffered by David Boston (knee) and Kendall Newson (Achilles'

Hang out with Steve.
Solid, clean effort by the Redskins. Defense was really good the entire game. Brunell cemented his starting position. Not so sure Ramsey's quite ready yet. Granted, Miami is torn apart by injuries, but even so the 'skins did a good job. Can't wait to see what else Gibbs has cooked up for the regular season!

Redskins 17, Dolphins 0

Why are athletes so damned stupid?

Suzy Kolber: "How would you say you have grown in this Colts offense?"

Wow, we got our ass kicked. Dave Ragone is a jackass... he was leaving all our receivers out to dry in the 2nd half. Tony Hollings left the game with an injury to his ribs I think after the dumbshit lobbed a pass at him with 2 LBs ready to strike.

Anyway, Ward looked good. :( Too good.

Damnit Niners. DAMNIT. If Fred Beasley was playing, Kevan Barlow would've done so much better, oh well.

This is going to be a harsh year. I just hope Kevan Barlow shows up like i think he will and doesnt fumble quite so often; Maybe even Brandon Llyod will be able to step up his game.

Brock Lesnar , a 26-year-old pro wrestler who is trying to win a job at defensive tackle with the Vikings, should have known his teammates were playing for real when they approached him on the last day of camp.

He was in for some rookie hazing.

"When all the guys were hanging around, I kind of caught onto it," Lesnar said.

Lesnar tried to run, but he was caught and tackled. His ankles were taped together. Randy Moss dumped water on him. Guard Chris Liwienski sat on his stomach. Kelly Campbell , a 170-pound receiver, jumped on Lesnar, who is 290 pounds, and counted to three as he pretended to pin him.

Lesnar took it in good humor.

"I knew it was coming one of these days," he said.

What? No fake blood?
