I think these are 360 screens.

Street textures looks kinda iffy, but it's early I suppose...and who the fuck notices lower resolution street textures when you're busy racing around the track at 150Mph anyway?

After the first two installments, I really began to love this series. I'm very pleased to see something other than underground though.

Does anyone here think NFS High Stakes is the best NFS ever? Truly one of my fav racing games on PSX. Me and my sister put countless hours playing it. :)

my favorite is NFS3: Hot Pursuit. but NFS High Stakes has the NFS3 tracks too so they're both awesome to me

Game looks a lot less impressive in motion sadly and not just because of the framerate. Nice environments, but the cars are pretty weak looking and the physics/special effects aren't that impressive...yet.

I thought the game looked pretty damn cool in motion. Looks fun/pretty.

A very pretty game, but are those leaves textured flat on the asphalt? Wouldn't it look funny if you're driving 200km/h across the highway and the leaves don't even budge?

Pretty good for EA. But X360 can do better for sure going by the specs. Stupid Alpha hardware, get the final dev kits to 3rd parties MS! NOW!

Not the same as this:

Different surface texture and different angle.

The game looks amazing? Give me a fucking break. Here I was thinking we were supposed to be entering the next generation. This looks good, but barely passable at best. Why Sony can wait 6 years for a new generation but Microsoft can barely wait 4 is beyond me.

I have to agree with Mike Works on this one. Most of the games we've seen so far look really good, but it's not like they put something like Riddick on Xbox to shame. Remember the leap from N64 to DC? Someone could tell me those screens are from the Xbox, and I would probably believe them for a good while.

IMO, games that really stand out, and why I will buy the X360 for sure: games like Dark Sector, anything made with the Unreal 3 engine, Ghost Recon 3.

I'll probably end up getting a PS3. I was really wowed by the Sony conference, but after sleeping on it, I realized that they really didn't show that much content, although there definitely will be.

While not directly about this game, another 360 dev told me that they had to switch to lower res textures for Alpha kit to be playable. So maybe it's a similar situations here where they have two sets of textures (high and low) throughout the development process.

That looks impressive?

Umm... not, not for the next-gen consoles. For Xbox1 - hell yeah.

As said above - leaves are still a texture?

Not a big fan of the art style, but yeah the roads need an ultrahigh res texture and...there's no self shadowing on the car!

The street textures are the best part.

Well depending on the screen.

The blurry ones are the one's I'm talking about. Just struck me as weird even though I know it's not indicative of the final build. I had to do my part to be picky as shit about screenshots...there's a quota here, ya know.

because xbox launched 20 months later than ps2 and M$ wants to launch 6 months before ps3.
Yeah, these shots are nice but come on, a regular xbox could come very close (not at 1280x720 obviously). I don't think it's the 4 yrs time difference's fault though, the hardware is much more powerful.
I think devs are not ready, really...no final hardware at this point, everything rushed to meet launch..
