Question: Are we going to be able to save replays this year? That would be awesome. Love it in the basketball!! Thanks
Answer: No, but that is something that we are looking into for Xbox 360.
Question: This isn't a big deal to many people, but I think would be a really cool feature. Basically, in franchise mode, will the cpu remember games that got a little scrappy and will subsequent games between your team and their team be a little bit more intense with bigger hitting, etc.? It was something you mentioned as a possibility for this year in last year's Q&A. Any chance of this being in the game this year or in the future?
Answer: This is actually something we are considering for the Xbox 360 version
Question: Have any improvements been made to the arena scoreboards this year? (ie. keep time with the game, show score other than 0-0, video displays showing scoreboard animations, maybe show the game going on in the video scoreclock like NFL2K5 does or any of the wrestling games)
Minor detail yes, but it would still go a long way in suspending disbelief and adding realism to a game that's already a REAL-SIM Cool.
Answer: This is also something that we are planning to work on for Xbox 360.
Answer: You will be seeing a lot more info on Franchise mode in the near future, but I'll try to give you some quick answers to your questions.
First off, we have done a great deal of work with trading logic and CPU roster management, and this has cleaned up many of the issues you saw in 2K5. You also have the ability to set your default lines that the CPU will use when auto-adjusting for you when players come back from injuries or when roster changes are made. This should make the system a lot more manageable and easier to deal with.
As for the e-mail system, we tied this in quite a bit with many of the new features in the game. For example, you'll get e-mails about which players teams have put on the trading block, who the players of the week were, how your team chemistry is doing, which players are unhappy with their roles on the team or their contract situation, etc.
Answer: We spent quite a bit of time tightening up puck physics and collisions this year. You should now be seeing more realistic deflections and bounces off of players and goalies and more five-hole goals and pucks that trickle through. Skating and checking also have a different feel to them this year. The turning radius is not quite as sharp, and you'll see more crossovers and feel a bit more momentum as you move around on the ice.
