One of the top 3 developers in the world, M2, have released a new trailer of their upcoming game : Night Striker Gear.

Now this is a game that I want to play. Looks stunning, engaging, super fun. Everything a video-game should be.

Releasing on Steam and Switch in 2025 ! Hoping for physical on Switch.

Youtube compression is doing this so dirty. But there are so okay screens up on the steam page, and the unfiltered sprites being scaled all over the screen are pretty ratty looking. This game would be a good candidate for some filter options. Crt filters do well enough for me as far as mitigating this.

wtf happened to M2 doing a new Aleste game? Did it come out and I missed it?

Edit: Nope. No update on new aleste and the new game from the Ikaruga lead dev, ubusuna, is still MIA.

I want these so god damn bad.

A new Night Striker? Cool!
However the music in the video is a huge downgroade compared Zuntata's OST of the original arcade game.

EDIT: Also the first "racing" game sequence in the video I'm pretty sure is a reference to Vertexer.

Love me some Space Harrier-likes.

Wish I could win some of these goodies they're running a contest for (at first I thought it's some collector's edition or something, lol)

The game is releasing tomorrow.

M2 are the best developers around :messenger_sunglasses:

I really hope that they will at some point work with SEGA again.

It's out on Steam as John Bilbo posted. Japan 23rd is 22nd elsewhere I guess.

Now that's going all in, haha. There's no throttle control afaik, but hey the Space Harrier arcade cabinet also had a flight stick by default (as did Night Striker, but maybe most people know that from the home ports - best on Saturn of course).
