This is the first worldwide launch of a Pokémon title and we are celebrating by hosting our launch event alongside other launch events happening around the world!

When you come down, you will be able to play Pokémon X and Pokémon Y before it hits the shelves! Don’t forget to bring your own Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo DS and your favourite Pokémon titles since this is a great opportunity to meet other Pokémon fans, exchange tips and maybe even trade a Pokémon or two.

Pokémon fans may walk away with an item to commemorate the launch of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y and Canada’s largest Pokémon gathering! Arrive early as giveaways are limited.

In addition, if you come down dressed up as your favorite Pokémon or Trainer you may receive a Poké Ball Game Case*.

I'll wear an old Pikachu hallowe'en costume if it means free gifts and swag.

Unfortunately I'll be up in Peterborough on the 11th, which sucks.

AND DAMMIT I'LL HAVE TO WAIT TILL FRIDAY TO PLAY X WHEN FUTURE SHOP MAILS IT. AUGH.

Hope they update details on it soon. I don't mind attending as long as it's close to me.

Will StreetPass help at all with progress or Pokemon in X/Y? I'm a bad 3DS owner; I don't even bother with StreetPasses and have no idea how it really affects my games.

No event in my city and the closest city is a five hour drive away, whoo.

So can you buy the game early, or are they just demo stations?

Ummm, "progress" I don't think so, although I think you can get special bonuses (kind of like Entralink in Black and White) using StreetPass. Maybe... I'm not entirely clear on all of the StreetPass functionality in XY although I know it lets you exchange trainer information and stuff. Maybe battle AI controlled versions of their parties?

They haven't said anything about StreetPass at all. As far as I know.

The gen V. games had a streetpass-like feature where you would collect surveys and in turn earn hearts that you use to pay the move relearner to teach your pokemon old level up moves.

It'll probably work something like that, this time around.
