How so? Its not even out yet. You mean going off the specs or something?
Putting aside specs and the stupid as balls idea to make this primarily a GBA thing instead of a DS thing, you must consider a few things. First, the screen. I don't know what land you live in or what your standards in so I won't speak for you, but I'll certainly speak for myself: Watching videos on DS/GBA-esque screen is right out the damned window. My standards are WAY too high for that, and it simply is not workable. You don't even have to compete it to the phenomenal PSP screen - other video players also have much better screens. In the end, it's just a novelty. It
can do it, but I certainly don't
want to blind myself looking at all the ugly.
Then you have to consider that nearly every report that was received from the floor when Play-Yan was introduced describes horrible artifacting and other such problems with the official Videos set up by Nintendo! I don't even want to imagine what one will have to go through to get something even remotely acceptable, even if you're willing to stab at your eyes to deal with the screen quality, resolution, 4:3 set up.

When you can get 1GB SD much cheaper than you can get Duo Pro I've gotta wonder if this might be a more affordable option. The resolution is lower and you can resample videos yourself if you buy the bundle with software..
Duos are coming down in price dramatically. You can already get them for 118 bucks and they're dropping. The cheapest you can get a 1GB SD Card is like 75-85 dollars. So the price difference is almost about to reach the negligible level. But even if you DID want to save yourself money, you're probably better off using Play-Yan as a cheap portable mp3 player solution. Because in terms of videos... disaster.

Hows that? You've used it? It should play videos fine, its not 1993 anymore when for videos you needed a powerful pc Unless there are too many restrictions like too limited codecs? This is much cheaper than doing it on PSP as you use SD instead of the most expensive memory format on the planet. And its more compact. Smaller, more practical screen too.
No no. It's not about playing videos fine. It's about dealing with the countless other restrictions. Read about the price above. Read the other problems above.
But your entire statement comes apart here:
Smaller, more practical screen
No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No.
