Nintendo Switch 2 |OT| Switch 2 Nintendo, because now we're playing with power

Enjoy!

That does seem to be the best grip, unless you got small-ish hands. Just too bad that shipping to Norway almost doubles the price.

I'm going to keep my cool for a while before I invest in a better handheld experience. I'm still hopeful that Hori will make a Split Pad Pro for the Switch². 🤞 But if not I'll reevaluate closer to FE release day.

Took a break from ff7 rebirth on xsx, those mini game bullshit on chapter 8 and 9 were too much fuck that, so got back into dk bananza and i just finished good game, now do i play zelda echo of wisdom or zelda forgotten land?

My most recent played games on my Switch 2 are Final Fantasy 7, StarFox and Skyrim.

wtf?!

New to me....sorry if old but i just found this setting!!

Sick of being on the Switch 2 eShop browsing sales and all the damn thumbnails autoplay the trailer videos?

TADA!!! I found this setting to turn that off! Go into the eShop, click your avatar in the upper right, then go down to the "Settings' tab on the left and then in that section go all the way down to this setting!!! Its defaulted at "Play".

So with ports like Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale, it's not as simple as using the mouse mode for the Switch 2 right? They would need to update those with patches for the functionality to cross over? I would probably pick up ports of these games if I could use the mouse mode but I kind of imagine it doesn't work that way so I haven't bothered to buy these.

The murmurs around GTA VI Switch 2 continue low key.

I'm torn as to the believability.

On the one hand Nintendo won't ask for it, even though it would make them a lot of money on the platform.

Again, on that hand, Rockstar also never pursued GTA V on Switch even though it would have made them a lot of money.

This time though, I wonder if the state of the hardware market might me making Rockstar seriously consider it. When the PS6 and Helix rock up, and that may be in 2027 or 2030 for all we know, they are probably going to be £800+ machines. They aren't going to achieve mass market penetration and 150m combined life time sales like previous gens have. That leaves a massive vacuum of potential customers for Rockstar, and they have in Nintendo's user base a 100m strong resource who actually spend money on games. Seems like an open goal to me, but let's see if it actually happens.

That would be nice. I found myself wanting to replay the 5th game just the other day and for once I wanted to try next-gen version. The second and only time I replayed GTA V was on my original PlayStation 3 copy. So I checked the Switch market even though I thought I knew that it wasn't on there and of course it's not. So I did end up buying the PS5 version for 20 bucks. I would really like it on Switch though. I would really like to see GTA IV on Switch, or even PlayStation for that matter, as well.

Correct, Switch 1 software can't use mouse controls unless the game gets patched for the Switch 2. And I believe that means that it needs to be running natively (ie. Switch 2 Edition / upgrade). Some Switch 1 games supported USB mice, but these games don't work with the Switch 2 joycon mouse thing. Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale have neither, so for now they're controller only.

I thought so. I would gladly gobble up digital versions of all of these Infinity engine games if they would get mouse support.

I just purchased a Switch 2 before the increase but I'm disappointed with the eshop.
Why are there so many hentai games? You would think that Nintendo would be the one company who would censor this nonsense.

The eShop tailors results based on your google search history.

Went to go grab Splatoon 3 thinking it would be cheap...$60... seriously Nintendo needs to get their head out of their ass. I'll grab a physical one for $23. This is why I'm dreading physical dying

Blasphemous is getting a new physical re-release called Martyrs edition and this one is a doozy. Art book, poster, all dlc and updates complete on cartridge and more. Looks awesome! I love Blasphemous so I hope I can get my hands on one of these, but they'll probably be gone pretty fast considering how rare and expensive the other prints for the game are.

How loud are your Switch 2's when docked? I was playing Yoshi and then TOTK earlier and noticed the fan noise was louder than I thought it would be.
It was as effective at pushing the hot air out though but I'm thinking this UK humidity isn't helping either.

For me, It's usually fairly quiet. It will only become noticeably noisy if it's trying to run a heavier game like FF7 Rebirth.

Also, it's summertime so if your room temp is naturally warmer than usual then it will cause the console to heat up easier and the fan will then kick in.

Will somebody please think of the children lol.. I like the speed of the e-Shop after the snail like scrolling pace of the original Switch hardware.

FWIW FF7 Remake and Rebirth are on sale on the eShop. Remake is $14 and Rebirth is $30. Bunch of other Square RPGs on sale too.

Kinda quick for a decent sale like that.

Quick in the sense that it just came out for the Switch 2 a few months ago

Not quick in the sense that the game is two and a half years old.

Quick or not, since it's a game key card at retail, I jumped on the deal.

Just a reminder to everyone who has waited. The switch 2 will likely go up in price very soon. Now may be the last time to buy one around the MSRP so if you have been waiting around to buy for a sale or something like that you may want to go ahead and pick it up today. Today is salad days for Nintendo hardware still and for no other hardware this is true. If you are budget constrained this may be the last chance to buy. Just a psa. Sorry if that sounds like a sales pitch if you have been following this you know it is a fact pitch.

I imagine these controllers have been discussed somewhere within the 104 pages of this thread, so apologies in advance, but can anyone here give some thoughts/advice on these controllers?

Specifically, is the pro variant worth double the price? I'm thinking about getting a Switch 2 but I don't want to pay $90 or whatever the asking price is for their Pro controller without hall effect joysticks. Also want this to double for Dolphin....

Isn't switch 2 price increase already confirmed for September?

I'm going to end up buying in at the higher pricepoint. I want the revision with the replaceable battery and ( reportedly) new and improved LCD screen.

Need an OLED revision now rather than in 2-3 years… fed up of using this thing docked. Wish I'd kept my Switch Oled now, playing portable encouraged me to play so many different games like Hades.

I'm waiting for a Lite for the wife. If it were an OLED too, all the better.

Makes zero fucking sense why NTDOY did this, the ONLY reason is greed and corporate profits. They know people will buy BOTH.
Under normal circumstances, for sure, but with the cost of everything going up and the need to get a critical mass of players early in the system's life cycle to secure software support… I'm just thinking they might want something flashy to draw people in. *shrug* And screens are one of the few components that datacenters won't be slurping up.

They can still sell an OLED Lite then upsell to the OLED core system. I'm honestly shocked they never got around to an OLED Switch 1 Lite.
