Any word on the black levels on the LCD screen?

As there's HDR can we expect an improved backlighting solution too?

I spotted this in CNET's preview

The Switch 2 has an LCD, not OLED, like the last iteration of the Switch, which went on sale in 2021. But honestly, it looked great to me in the hours I tried it. The 1080p resolution, HDR capabilities and refresh rate that can go up to 120Hz depending on the game, stood out while playing. I'd take this over the Switch OLED display right now.

Eurogamer hands on confirms you can use your left joycon normally and your right joy con as a mouse to aim.

Pretty cool.

Didn't remember if that was covered in yesterday's reveal.

Surely makes the Switch a great place to play shooter games if they include that in CoD, Fortnite etc

These are difficult to hear some talk with all the noise in the background. But I gather the screen is probably going to be good enough that I don't have to wait for the OLED version.

Coming up.

I'm setting my self up to be ready for grey blacks. Super vibrant colours but grayish blacks. Then I won't be dissapointed when I pick up the console.

I'll be fine until the oled model releases.

Digital Foundry "Mario Kart World is a work of genius"

-1440p/60fps
-Open World
-Dynamic weather system
-24 players
-Complex physics system
I don't know if I would call 24 players a positive...I remember thinking back when Mario Kart Wii came out , that the jump to 12 players from 8 was too much. That game was so horribly balanced, because it was just a constant barrage of items hitting you if you ever got in any lead. Now they're doubling it?

USA preorders go live April 24 Midnight EST (12 AM / 4/23 9 PM PST)
Thanks for answering, but thats a different answer.

I have been told Amazon won't be offering the Switch 2.

Not sure if believe it. But others retailers already display info.

This can be true, but it depends on if they mitigate it with the wider roads and the posibiliy of evading certain objects jumping, wallriding or grinding.

They've had a decade to make this game. I'm willing to put a little faith in Nintendo on this one.

I have always been informed that Nintendo's relationship with Amazon US is spotty.
When the Zelda OLED came up for preorder i was able to secure it day one on Amazon but i dont remember it going up at midnight. Switch 2 is also way higher profile.
Best you can do is if you really want Amazon- be prepared at midnight regardless.

Have they said how long the HDMI cable is? I probably need to buy one as I need about 8ft.

The coverup about how bad it is would lead some to believe it is better than Gran Turismo. Somehow.
Biggest disappointment of the gen so far for me, and there have been many.

Mario Kart won't let me down, looks fantastic.

I just finished up Xenoblade X DE and can't wait what Monolith Soft going to do with Switch 2.
And that's not even the most graphically complex game Monolith has done on Switch, it doesn't even have 8th gen rendering features like Xenoblade 2 and 3, now I can't imagine them with RT, virtual geometry, DLSS and stuff like that, I'll have to tell my child that he's gonna be fatherless for two weeks after Xenoblade 4 comes out

Where are you located? Doesn't seem very hard at all to get a pre-order in here in the UK.
Hungary. The stores here randomly started the preorders a day after the show. I preordered the MK bundle in a big store where i bought my PS5 and the Pro aswell as soon as i saw it on the first day. Looks like i was still slow or they get really low stock
