Nintendo to get another Silicon Knights title?

Seriously, Club Nintendo guys in Scandinavia are very unlikely to be receiving unpublished info on such. I know as I used to be one before.

The only info we got before it was public related to HW - we actually got Super Game Boy and the fun color N64 consoles before they were announced. But SW? Never. So we used to scramble on whatever we found on the web.

Didn't they leak the name 'Starcube' as well?

Pre Twin Snakes? I don't think so.

Well I do. Heck, one look at ED's sales should tell you that they didn't have many fans.

Yes. Luckily I left three months prior to that humiliation.

It was a textbook example of how information is created in the internet. Some fansite hears a rumor / finds a patent, they game fans working at the official organizations find the news and report it in the official site, after which it's reported all accross the internet as "fact". I remember also the game list of upcoming GameCube games on Nintendo's booth in a Nordic gameshow back in 2002. The marketing manager doing the show basically pulled the list out of his ass, using Cube-Europe as source. Then some game fans took a picture of the list and posted it in the internet, after which it was again "fact". Except for all the fan fiction games on the list.

I want another game from SK this gen. And I don't care about what system it's on. Just give me it!

PS. An Xbox-version would be cool though :P DS

I liked both ED and TTS very much, not my favorites but certainly good entertainment, especially MGS, i was looking forward to Too human and still do, and expecting their next title with much curiousity, no matter the platform, because i own them all, so no stupid fight over "exclusivity" of SK on my part :p

Why do Cube fans suddenly hate SK?

your tag is shameful.

I don't - Like Twin snakes ; hated ED and hated their LOGO. Their logo is the only thing I reckon is REALLY wrong with TTS. Shameful.

I hope that if they do a title. It will at least look good. Otherwise SK is very last gen

maybe its just a new ED title

Nintendo owns ED and didn't we heard a something a while back like the developer of Alone in the Dark is working on a new ED for Nintendo?

I do not approve this shit. What a horrible idea. No-one but SK should handle the ED franchise IMO. NO-ONE. Well maybe Team Kojima as a compensation for TTS :D

I found Eternal Darkness alright, but overrated. I liked TTS, but that wasn't even SK's idea or creation, so I don't credit them with much on its creation.

This is the ugliest logo known to man.

I mean...what professional company uses the font Serpentine? tacky as fuck.

bhpuh

With that said I did enjoy Eternal Darkness and Twin Snakes and hope for more from them on any console.

I must add that it's totally impossible to get in contact with someone at Silicon Knights. I've emailed them over 5 times without a single reply... :(

So, they answering to e-mails ;)

I think they're currently working on Eternal Darkness 2 (Too Human), but we should learn more next year...before E3!

WTF?! They hate me! >_<

It's good that other email them though. So they know a lot of people are interested in what they are doing. I hope they make an announcement soon. Can't wait much longer. I need a new SK title ASAP!

Shiggy: Do you know any SK related forums? I'd like to hang around with other SK fans :)

I only know www.toohuman.net, but there aren't many people :/

Ken: There are reasons for why things are in 2450, reasons why Too Human doesn't take place next year, or next century.

Denis: There's a history built up. One of the things that we've put into Too Human that's not in a lot of games is a digital archive. It's a detailed history readout of the game itself. If you want to find out what happened between now and 2450, you can look it up in the history record

History -> Eternal Darkness
Future (Too Human) <-> (Eternal Darkness) Past
This could be the explaination why Too Human delayed. They wanted to include the Eternal Darkness thing and put the two stories together. This would be interesting.

Just wanted to say that I talk with the Norwegian Nintendo-people almost daily, and they really don't know anything the rest of you don't know about. Only, in some cases, release-dates for hardware-bundles and such. Never software. You can safely disregard any shocking news you'll ever see on www.nintendo.no, and that's a fact.

Wow, surprised to see this bumped!

I didn't take the Norwegian Nintendo site as anything truely significant myself, but recently "Cube" (an independant unofficial Gamecube magazine in the UK, published by writers of Play, P2, XBM, PowerStation, GamesTM, Pokemon World etc) put this in their magazine:

The loss of Silicon Knights, creators of Eternal Darkness and Metal Gear Solid: TTS, as an exclusive developer was a minor but nevertheless notable blow for Nintendo earlier in the year. But now it seems as if the treacherous dog is about to become a valuable contributor to the Nintendo legacy once more. Silicon Knights is still not returning fully to the fold, in that it won't be becoming an exclusive developer again, but it is apparently working on a new and as yet un-named game for the Gamecube. This is in addition to Too Human, which was a tech demo shown at the launch of the Gamecube and is rumoured to be turning into a multi-format release.

whether Nintendo are getting another SK game remains to be seen -- but it wouldn't be surprising. After all, SK being a third party now and probably seeking a new publisher wouldn't necessarily mean they had a poor relationship with Nintendo all of a sudden. On the contrary it could be any number of other things that have caused it: grand SK ambitions, publisher interest from outside Nintendo (EA, Konami?).. but we do know Dyack had meetings with NOA at E3 despite the reports of the split coming beforehand.

In any case we'll know the full story soon according to IGN. They'll be posting early details in January, I think.

I analysed their releasedates over the last two years and they were most times right!

They had Animal Crossing 2 and a new Super Mario for GCN in the list, those are planned for the Revolution. They had the day before E3 2003 Paper Mario in the list, NoE some days later also, but they were first.

Nintendo Norway is most times right, when they reveal games of Nintendo games or games of their partners.

However, trusting a Norwegian Nintendo site is like voting for Bush. Even if it turns out you were right you're still a retard.

You can't compare:

Voting for Bush is a really stupid thing, people who do that should have sex with Angela Merkel (do you know her^^?)

Trusting a Norwegian Nintendo site isn't a bad thing, because they're most times right.

The Scandinavian Nintendo sites get most of their "news" from other sites. The people working there aren't privy to secret information. Keep in mind that they aren't Nintendo affiliates but rather local distributors who work with Nintendo.

Matt from IGN said they're working on next-gen now, and sometime in Jan./Feb. they'll be talking about their plans and the split with Nintendo.

You said it, I said it, hell even thomaser said it. Still some people want to believe.

I believe they're getting another SK title on Gamecube or Revolution for many reasons. But that Norwegian site isn't one of them. I think my last post was completely ignored actually...

either way, we'll see come January.

No, they won't reveal a game in January, i think. They have a big realationship to Konami, they're working together, I heard.

hmm? The Too Human being a sequel to ED is a new idea... but it sounds pretty cool. O_o

Personally I loved ED and TTS so I found it a shame that they split from Nintendo, hopefully it's not a mean hatefull split and hopefully it's just SK wanting to be a bit on their own cause I'd love to see a revolution sequel to ED but that's me

I think the story still has more to tell but we'll see

and if Too Human is to become a sequel to ED and Nintendo owns the rights to ED, then I don't see how they could make that a multiplatform release

hmmmmm

I swear that I have spoken to Denis Dyack through email before. It wasn't too long ago either. Maybe a few months ago? Although I didn't get much real info from him, I believe he did say that they are working on multiple projects.
