I don't think it does, it definitely doesn't support audio CD but unsure if that's a software issue.
most likely a software lock in order to avoid CD licensing costs

Don't know if Wikipedia is 100%, but it says:most likely a software lock in order to avoid CD licensing costs
Don't know if Wikipedia is 100%, but it says:
The base version of the PlayStation 5 includes an Ultra HD Blu-ray optical drive compatible with Ultra HD Blu-ray discs, standard Blu-ray discs and DVDs. The PlayStation 5 does not support CDs and will not play 3D Blu-ray content.

Yeah even if they made proper bc a thing, I wouldn't expect your old disc's to work, you will be paying 19.99 for a game you already ownDon't know if Wikipedia is 100%, but it says:

I mean i read that it has something to do with the laser, but not sure where and not interested enough to google it up.like I saidy most likely a software thing. I don't know any bluray drive that doesn't read CDs, and they most likely use a mass produced drive that is in no way special since that makes sense cost wise.
The fact us it isn't worth your time, because it's all nonsense anyway.I mean i read that it has something to do with the laser, but not sure where and not interested enough to google it up.
That's not all they do though, they're a support studio too. They helped with Horizon development.Nixxes are a PC port house.
Sony said they want to bring more games to PC.
Pretty obvious.
They helped with Horizon development.
Do you have a source on the credits? It's not listed on the Nixxes website that they worked on Horizon.
I think he means they helped on Killzone shadowfall. Which is probably why and how they were acquired, the studio has a close working relationship with Guerrilla as a support studio. They're both based in the Netherlands as well. I think there is an assumption that they could be helping out on Forbidden West right now based on that

Yeah that was rectified above, I was thinking of Killzone Shadowfall.Nope. They do PC ports.
And Nixxes are not in the credits in Horizon Zero Dawn. So might wanna check your info again.
yeah, no
Pretty likely -if that Spartacus thing really exists- they will simply add more PS2 games to PSN and PS Now, plus more streaming only PS3 titles that would be PS3 games+PS1 games+PSP games. They wouldn't need to develop any new emulator, just to license more games for PS Now (and in the case of PS2 for PSN).I still want confirmation that talk of BC on new PS+ 3rd tier isn't simply referrring to the bc games currently on PSNow already, PS3 ones being streaming-only etc.
A merged service for more likely more money than currently doesn't interest me at all. If Sony are actually fully embracing bc, thats what im interested in.
