Anyone know of any DSL services that don't require you to have an existing phone service? I heard about Megapaths Networks DSL recently, but it seems that service is no longer available. I have the option of switching to cable, but it's $56 a month here, so I wanted to check and see if there's any DSL services around that don't require phone service...

I'm not sure whre you live, but Qwest offers 1.5Mbps down/896k up Stand alone DSL for $33.00 per month plus the cost of the ISP. They also offer Qwest.net Internet basic as an ISP for $9.99 per month making the total cost $42.99 per month. From there you can either rent the modem for $5.00 per month or buy it for $59.99, which includes built in Wifi. It's what I currently use at home, though Comcast upping their speeds to 6Mbps down is getting really tempting.
