I hadn’t read that before this thread. Just 🤣🤣.

I know Ambien can make people do some weird sleep walking shit (I saw what it did to my dad) but I don’t think I’d share a story like that with strangers on the internet. Not even sure I’d share it with non-strangers… maybe just my doctor.

OP posts stories about the dumb shit he does while drunk or on drugs and then wonders why his roommate acts flaky. The more I read his posts the more I think they really deserve each other and the misery they bring to each other. 🤷

If you really did get your SSDI benefits (sadly, I have to take your posts with a grain of salt these days), just know that in another year you'll be able to get Medicare (you become eligible 24 months from your award date, which is usually 12 months retroactive from the time you're notified; your benefit letter will have your actual award date listed). Begin considering the future now because they will automatically put you on Medicare and automatically begin taking out Part B premium deductions ($185/mo in 2025) from your SSDI benefit payments -- unless you specifically opt out of Medicare ahead or time OR apply for state Extra Help benefits to cover the premiums.

I dunno, he seems like he’s a chill dude in a bad spot residing in a feedback loop of negativity. Non-confrontational to a fault, but it’s not like he’s trying to take advantage of other people. Seems to want to make sure bills are paid. Heart’s in the right place. If the worst you get is occasional airing of grievances on an internet forum due to his own ineffective communication of expectations and an occasional glimpse of his dick hanging out there, this is small potatoes.

Almost 20 years ago I had a roommate who would blast his music with zero consideration to others and would wipe his boogers on walls. Would not help clean the shared bathroom despite him creating the lion’s share of mess. Took no time to be rid of his nasty ass after several talks about it.

I would have taken Dark as a roommate over that asshole any day. If a roommate isn’t making a mess, is quiet, considerate of others, and pays the rent on time, that sounds pretty ideal to me.

I actually didn't know that. I'm currently on Medicaid. Currently I don't qualify for Medicare because of my income.

For what it's worth, I'm on SSI, not SSDI.

But thanks for the heads up. I'll find out more about that.

I'm not going to argue that it's pathetic. But it's not a kink.

Right now my solution would be to just have a friend to talk to face to face. To just hang out and talk with, not over the phone, but in person.

Anyways, this is another threat I think that should just be locked at this point because asking for advice here is not exactly the best thing to do.

Personally, I will agree I'm really fucking stupid to share any information like this. So I won't argue with that point.

I guess I just feel really depressed and I wanted to vent and I did it in the wrong place, yet again. I just wanted someone to talk to but I made the mistake doing it here.

So, I think it would be best if this thread was locked like the rest of them. I just want to go back talking about obscure science fiction games that I'm discovering.

Then take some action. Lots of people are telling you your roommate is toxic, yet you still let them live with you rent free! I know you're attracted to them, but if they're not interested then let it go and get rid of them.

You want to talk and vent? Go for it. But how long have we been reading about the problems you have with your room buddy?

Kick them out or make them pay rent. Tell them you're attracted to them and if they reject you so be it. We've all been rejected at some point.

This is coming from a place of love, brother. People here just want to see you happy.

Use the new year as a reset point. It seems there are a bunch of things that you are unhappy with in life. So why not take some time to consider what those are and make changes to move towards putting yourself in a position you will feel better in. Letting yourself linger in a situation you aren't happy with will slowly drag you down mentally as all those things weigh down on you. But being proactive will make you feel better in itself, even if it's a small thing you've been putting off for a while like switching out a lightbulb or cleaning a room. You can then build up to the bigger issues, break them down into smaller steps and tackle them that way. Taking back control will make you feel less powerless and that can make a huge difference in your outlook on life.

You also might want to reconsider regularly sharing these deeply personal details of your life on here. I get that sometimes you need to vent, but if you are going to do that then do it with a sense of direction and as an opportunity to take on advice about what to do next. As others have said, there are plenty of us on here that want to see you doing better so if talking it through with us can help then great. But you just saying "this sucks" and that being the end of it won't do much, unfortunately. You've got to look forward and work to improve things.
