The 2015 indie classic is getting update 100 on December 5st. It features support for 60 & 120fps.
Gamemaker limitations back in the days meant 30fps gameplay, I couldn't stand it, too cinematic for me.

You can try the beta now and 60fps feels just right.

To access the Steam Beta:

1. Right Click on Nuclear Throne in your Steam Library.
2. Click "Properties..."
3. Click "Betas"
4. Select "openbeta_win64"
5. Enjoy your silky smooth gaming!

To access the FPS settings:

1. Go to SETTINGS > GAME > MECHANICS

It's not GM limitations, GM has had 60fps since forever. It's just the devs being retarded, going with the 30 default and tying the logic to that number.

Man, I haven't touched Nuclear Throne since 2021. Absolutely a good reason to play this again.

The 60 FPS really does make a difference, matching the fast, brutal pacing of the game. It's like Night and Day. I even killed the Captain for the first time after reaching the IDPD.

I remember bouncing off this one back in the day since it ran only on 30fps. No reason to check it out now!

A bit ridiculous that the game was 30 fps for so long. There was a 60 fps mod which worked pretty well though wouldn't register achievements. Oh well, better late than never. Great game apart from that.
