Pathetic really, this from a company that refuses to address compatibility problems within their nforce3 chipset and 6800 series gfx cards.

Wow.

I've never seen it's like. It's almost like the Major Nelson counterpoint to the PS3 specs in it's vitriol (I don't know about it's accuracy, unlike the Major Nelson debacle)

i dunno from the reviews i saw they were quite even, hard to say which was superior overall, but then again what can ati say about the paperlaunches, especially after nvidia handled their 7800 launches so well.

Wow competition is in full swing

Competition? More like mud-slinging.

Somewhat funny but it's not like Nvidia is spouting with credibility when they do something liket his.

Its no secret. nVidia has been kicking ATI's ass. Crossfire and the r520 are jokes. Anyone following PC graphics cards even slightly would realize this.

its funny because its true.. ati has really dropped the ball so far this year. where is the r520 already?!

Really, so not all of this is PR makeup?

NVIDIA seems to me more and more like 3DFX in their last years... Cuts in rendering quality, idiotic words to bash their rivals...

Man, thats gotta be some of the most childish things I've ever seen a company do. Hell, even if they do have a point, its lost in the message of sounding so desperate.

Nvidia. LOL. I don't know JACK about graphic cards, but when I purchased mine last year(X800pro) I based it off of my previous card(9800).

I worked great. Why buy another brand? Becuase you can make idiotic little mud-slingers like this?

Sheesh.

I guess for enthusists this may seem like something, but for people who buy a graphic card update, becuase they "want it to play everything on the market with no hic-cups" it means squat.

Almost like some 12yo screaming for attention now that the new baby is home.

Thats pretty blind loyaity faith moku,

Every time I buy a new graphics card I evaluate all the options.

But in your choice, the X800 is a good card

No, because the other brand will have most your games run better and will have Sm3.0.

Really, so not all of this is PR makeup?

Most of it is true.

It may seem like that, but put yourself in my shoes;

1.)You want a card that will breeze thru anything on the market.

2.)You owned a 9800 that did just that, with NO PROBLEMS(Cooling, malfunction e.t.c.)

Why shop? I had ZERO problems. It may sound stupid to some, but I am always loyal when there are ZERO problems. Why change when everything worked out to perfection?

It's funny how nvidia use a microsoft image to prove there point once again proving that MS are graphic leaders :)

Sm3.0? And what kind of performance boost are you talking about? I argue with my brother(PC whiz) about this same shit. "With such and such your game will run about 13fps higher" "So it'll run at 80fps, instead of 67? with everything at maximum" "Yeah"

Big fucking deal.

Not only that, Nvidia didnÂ’t do a damn thing to fix their claimed WMV hardware acceleration on their 6800GTÂ’s. I freaking paid for it, I want it you know? IÂ’ve always had an Nvidia bias, but that did piss me off.

That said, BOTH companies have been guilty of this kind of stuff. So this is nothing new- just bidness as usual. A few years back, when Nvidia answered ATIÂ’s R300 core with the NV30, I can assure you it wasnÂ’t Nvidia who was laughing- ATI was spanking their arse.

well, at least back then, ATi wasn't making long powerpoint presentations about how much better than they are.

This is really pathetic. Does NVidia really need to do something like this? Everyone knows ATi is dropping the ball, this corporate mud slinging is as bad as what you see on GAF. Let the trusted websites show the benchmarks and report the news, and consumers will decide on which is the best product.

Ever since my Nvidia Geforce 6400 ultra died away back I switched over to ATI and never looked back. Now this is just plain sad. I can't wait till Nvidia dies a horrible death like 3Dfx.

I don't know but there are many people who say that they changed from Nvidia to ATI and never looked back. Is it because of the software? Cos I swear the Forceware drivers were designed by monkeys. Especially some features like the TV output are a complete nightmare and you have to use an extra program (TVtool) to make it functional.

Why did it die? did you try to RMA the card? I've killed my 6800Ultra & my X800XT, Nvidia sent me a 7800GT but stupid ATI sent me a AIW X800XT card which is buggy and complete crap compared to my stock X800XT.

It's a bit low for Nvidia to kick them while their down but it promotes better quality in products and hell even better competition.

The card is more powerful. And it can run games with all the effects enabled. Might not be a big deal to you, but it is to many.

These companies have a longstanding tradition of mudslinging; but I agree- Nvidia has taken it to a new level of vitriol here.

Yep, they would always put me on hold. I tried for 2 weeks and never got through. I just got fed up and went out and bought an AIW 9700 pro. Never had any problems since. I actually love the better picture quality. A lot sharper and more vibrant. The picture quality with Nvidia cards always looked just a tad rougher and colors washed out.

who the fuck cares is all I have to say. I think it's hilarious to see companies having a little bitch fight like 13 year old girls. For fucks sake.

Every god damn thing you buy for your PC is out of date. You would have to do upgrade monthly to sat up to date, and fuck, I dont know many people who can afford to upgrade thier graphics card every six months let alone every year.

Reading over that... First thing that came to mind is the word desperation.
What, from nVidia?

If they were coming off of the 5*00 series, I could understand, but their more recent cards have been kicking ATI's ass.

They seem atleast to be concerned about crossfire.
