some excerpts:

As the Russians gradually assumed control of Uranium One in three separate transactions from 2009 to 2013, Canadian records show, a flow of cash made its way to the Clinton Foundation. Uranium One’s chairman used his family foundation to make four donations totaling $2.35 million. Those contributions were not publicly disclosed by the Clintons, despite an agreement Mrs. Clinton had struck with the Obama White House to publicly identify all donors. Other people with ties to the company made donations as well.

Whether the donations played any role in the approval of the uranium deal is unknown. But the episode underscores the special ethical challenges presented by the Clinton Foundation, headed by a former president who relied heavily on foreign cash to accumulate $250 million in assets even as his wife helped steer American foreign policy as secretary of state, presiding over decisions with the potential to benefit the foundation’s donors.

Bit of a long read but quite interesting nonetheless.
Can you smell the election cycle heating up or what?

Even if there is no wrong doing, the perception of a scandal is sometimes all it takes. If Clinton gets the nomination, this may end up being one of the most virulent elections ever.

The Clintons are so dumb for not restricting foreign cash donations since 2007. For what is considered a smart family, how could they not see this biting them in the ass?

"Those [$2.35m] contributions were not publicly disclosed by the Clintons, despite an agreement Mrs. Clinton had struck with the Obama White House to publicly identify all donors."

Is the most damning to me. They knew it was wrong and would be either a conflict of interest or present a future political issue, but still hid them.

It'll all blow over though. Hillary Clinton is proving to be as teflon as Bill, very little sticks to them for long.

This is what Rand was slow jerking to when he said there was a scandal on the horizon that would sink the Hilary battleship?

Meh. I don't believe that at all. I think Rand was just throwing out random shit knowing that it wouldn't be long until someone screamed 'Scandal!' and 'Clintons!'.

He said that it had to do with the Clinton Foundation and foreign contributors while she was secretary of state. I don't think this will affect her campaign in the long run, but it was mighty stupid of them not to restrict foreign donations while she was SoS and about to run for president.

I didn't realize it was that specific. With that in mind you are probably right. This has probably been brewing for a while then.

They didn't even restrict the cash flow even when she thought she was going to win the Primaries in 2007 until a senator named Barrack Obama showed up.

Because they don't give a shit and don't expect consequences? It's really the only explanation for their impulsive behavior. She has the best shot at the presidency, but instead of preserving that she willingly walked into a series of fuck ups. From the email situation to this. A lot of these infractions will seem petty or minor, but they build up. The anti Clinton playbook has always been to throw shit at them and hope something sticks - and if all else fails hope the general smell will dissuade voters.

She's probably the only democrat who can win the WH next year, and is going to skip through the primaries without effort. If I was a republican strategist I'd wait until she secured the nomination before releasing whatever damaging info I have.

Yea, really puzzling lack of foresight on their part. Their implied invincibility could bite them in the butt heavily if it ever wears off. These are the kind of things that people may forget now, but fumbling them in future debates causes them to become sticking points.

The Clinton's are like Silva, thinking they can just clown around while believing their political maneuverability will insure that nothing will land.

Eventually, something will, and I would rather she not be fucking about when there are supreme court seats on the line for this election.

As long as it stays like this it won't affect it but Clinton is a dangerous candidate for the Democrats if they did something really stupid and someone finds out.

Slick Willy is doing voodoo rituals as we speak to try and transfer his Teflon mojo to his wife. Will we soon see Slick Hilly? Tune in next week to find out - same Bat time, same Bat channel.

This could really hurt the Clinton race. Americans aren't too comfortable with the possible Nuke deal already. Now they find out Putin and Russia are scooping up enriched uranium for their own country.
This is going to be the most ugly presidential race ever.

This is why I was never so confident about Hilary running. The Clinton's have been corrupt as fuck for so long that her entire campaign is going to be a scandal vending machine.

Clinton went into serious debt after the 08 primaries. She wasn't going to turn down any money she could get. She apparently despises being in the red.

USA get ready for another Bush in the White House....

May Xenu have mercy on our souls.

We had a surplus at the end of the Clinton era...so that sounds about right.

In a statement, Brian Fallon, a spokesman for Mrs. Clinton’s presidential campaign, said no one “has ever produced a shred of evidence supporting the theory that Hillary Clinton ever took action as secretary of state to support the interests of donors to the Clinton Foundation.”

This is problematic. Rather than outright denying it, Fallon is basically saying "You can't prove it" - which could be interpreted as an admission of guilt by itself in the court of public opinion.

Nobody will care about this but right wing nuts. This a non issue like the email "scandal" and Benghazi. Part of teflon bills defense is they throw so much crap at him people stopped caring about the crying wolf. It will be part of hillary's defense as well.

Of the two or three issues I really dislike Hillary for, one of that special triumvirate is the Clinton Foundation. It's been known for years to be shady, opportunistic, and downright slimy in the search for cash and geopolitical influence.

I wonder how much of its history will really reach air play. Still voting for her over a Republican.

Bill had that southern charm. If they were D&D characters Bill would have a charisma of 18 and Hilary 6, equivalent to a Frost Troll.

TIME goes into detail about the process behind the deal. Several governmental departments had to improve, and Clinton had no involvement:

The State Department’s role in approving the deal was part of an extensive bureaucratic process, and the chapter offers no indication of Hillary Clinton’s personal involvement in, or even knowledge of, the deliberations. State has just one vote on the nine-member committee, which also includes the departments of Defense, Treasury and Energy. Disagreements are traditionally handled at the staff level, and if they are not resolved, they are escalated to deputies at the relevant agencies. If the deputies can’t resolve the dispute, the issues can be elevated to the Cabinet Secretary level and, if needed, to the President for a decision. The official chairman of CFIUS is the Treasury Secretary, not the Secretary of State.

Before purchasing a controlling stake in Uranium One, the Russian conglomerate also had to get approval from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, an independent agency outside of the State Department’s purview, as well as Utah’s nuclear regulator. It also received the sign-off of Canada’s foreign investment review agency. The deal itself was the outgrowth of a diplomatic initiative launched by the Administration of George W. Bush to expand trade opportunities between Russia and the U.S., including in the area of nuclear power.

One official involved in the process said Clinton had nothing to do with the decision in the Uranium One case. Jose Hernandez, who as former Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy and Business Affairs was the State Department’s principal representative on the committee, rejected the notion that Clinton’s foundation ties had any bearing on the deal. “Secretary Clinton never intervened with me on any CFIUS matter,” he told TIME.

There is no "there" there. It's just another New York Times anti-Clinton hit piece founded solely on conjecture and innuendo. Not that it matters whether there's a smoking gun or not, the aim is just to exhaust everyone with Clinton scandals so by election day the media and GOP can say: do you really want 4 years of this? Wouldn't it be easier if we elected Jeb instead?

Is NYT particularly noted for attacking the Clintons and I've just been unaware this whole time?

At this point does this stuff even matter? The Clintons are like teflon and a lot of key players in the press and Washington always circle the wagons around them. They have this uncanny ability to always make a certain bloc of voters to think their scandals are much ado about nothing.

Not to my knowledge. I didn't really understand his comment either, but maybe I've just been unaware too. Wall Street Journal is the paper that's predominately right leaning, while NYT is left.

Clintons are immune to scandal collapses. they are not immune to scandals but they thrive on scandals and make it advantageous to them. I can bet all the dirty laundry is being aired publicly from inside the clinton camp on purpose to get it ALL out THIS early because they know, we know and everyone knows the attention span of the American voter on things like this is smaller than a bird. This is perfect for the Clintons that its coming NOW and not in a year. So yes I am betting this was leaked out by the clinton camp themselves.

Well, at least we can just check her emails to make sure this kind of thing wasn't getting mixed in with her official State Dept business, so that's comforting.

Oh...wait.

Even if there is no wrong doing, the perception of a scandal is sometimes all it takes. If Clinton gets the nomination, this may end up being one of the most virulent elections ever.

I don't know about that.

I didn't watch much Obama/McKain commercials or debates, but I remember back when Bush and Gore were running every commercial was some new, dumb scandal or controversy or silly news story (remember that dude who did that silly YEEHAH! which seemed to halt his progress?). Throwing away medals, having coal/oil mines on their property, being in the pocket of company X, Y, or Z, etc.

"This guy did this!"
"No, but that guy did THIS!"
"Nuh uh, but totally unrelated, that candidate did THIS!!!"

I feel like it all just cancels each other out at a certain point, depending on the severity of the issue of course.

Well if there was another good candidate from the Democrats it might, but right now the other side is just as steeped in political donations but also want to control uteruses, deny the poor healthcare, stop minorities from voting, bomb the muslims, defund science and declare Christianity the national religion. It's not a character poll, you can dig up dirt on anybody, it's about what they intend to get done and if they align with the things you want you are more likely to gloss over those details.

The book Clinton Cash releases in early May I believe? Will be interesting to see what other donations were made to the Clinton foundation while she was Secretary of State.
