Oasis Reunion possible?

Why the reunion? Did they run out of money or what?

They might not have ran out of money. But there was a huge amount to be made in the reunion, more than either of them performing on their own as they have been for the past few years. It seems like they maybe still aren't on the best terms, but good enough that they can, hopefully, tolerate each other.
Liam doesn't need more money. Liam's always been in it for the right reasons.

Noel divorced his wife last year, obviously costly and he hasn't had as much success as Liam since he went solo (they've both done well however Liam has clearly been more successful). There's also the element that his wife has probably been a voice in his ear over the last decade plus and now that they're divorced a reconciliation with Liam was possible.

Yep. They sold over 70 million records. Neither need the cash.

Most definitely money

But they seem to be ok with each other. Good, even.

My headcanon is that they got old, and old people learn to forgive and forget. Specially your brother. Imagine dying without making peace with each other.
Maybe they need each other?

I don't know what it is that makes me feel alive
I don't know how to wake the things that sleep inside
I only wanna see the light that shines behind your eyes

I hope that I can say the things I wish I'd said
To sing my soul to sleep and take me back to bed
Who wants to be alone when we can feel alive instead

Because we need each other
We believe in one another
And I know we're going to uncover
What's sleepin' in our soul
Because we need each other
We believe in one another
I know we're going to uncover
What's sleepin' in our soul
What's sleepin' in our soul

There are many things that I would like to know
And there are many places that I wish to go
But everything's depending on the way the wind may blow

I don't know what it is that makes me feel alive
I don't know how to wake the things that sleep inside
I only want to see the light that shines behind your eyes

We believe in one another

What's sleepin' in our soul
What's sleepin' in our soul
'Cause we believe
'Cause we believe
Yeah we believe
'Cause we believe
'Cause we believe
'Cause we believe
Because we need
Because what we need

Appreciate the thought but as a 90's gig veteran the worst that could happen is I fuck up these digital tickets. Like WTF?

They fucking suck. I've got Arctangent festival next month and the place gets no fucking signal, so if I forget to take screenshots of the QR codes in the DICE ticket app, i'll be there for 2 hours waiting for them to load.

Apparently you cant take screenshots of the ticket, the barcode is live. it changes every few minutes. It has to go into my digital wallet alongside my digital cocaine.

Fuck i feel like my dad who can't work the remote.

I've heard a couple of reasons for the timing, all of which is speculation but makes sense: number one, the divorce. Liam not liking the ex-wife (and vice versa) was a big reason for the split to begin with. Also, now the ex won't get half the proceeds from the reunion, and it'll get Noel's net worth back to where it was before, if not higher. Number two, the catalog is almost old enough that Noel can sell the publishing, which MANY musicians have been doing over the last few years, and getting the band back to the top of Spotify will goose the value ahead of time.

Having said that, cynical/monetary reasoning aside, what I've heard from the Cardiff shows has been great, way better than I expected (I thought they'd tune down a key and they didn't have to), and they're at least putting across the appearance of getting along. So it's all good so far, it seems!

Bitches. Always blame the bitches.

Obviously its about the money as always but Noel almost looked in tears during slideaway and Liam is singing like hes back in '94 at Cardiff

Lets see, it'll be hard to pull of at Heaton Park as the sound will be wank but the crowd will carry it just like when the Roses returned.

Ive seen the set list and Noel knows the audience. Every single person in the crowd knows the words. The stage is set, the sun is forecast to shine. I was at Knebworth and several gigs beforehand.

Oasis had something, that rare moment when audience and band are in it together. Prodigy and the Roses had it on a smaller scale for me as well.

They are not the best musicians of my lifetime, that accolade goes to Radiohead, but they were/are the best band I've ever seen smash it. Main Road and Knebworth were something else.

Honestly they sounded so much better than they had any right to.

Ive seen pretty much every band going and this tops the lot.

Liam still fuck off at the end while everyone else is waving on stage or has he got past the 'it's not all about him' part from Cardiff?

Long wait till Wednesday

Enjoy mate, report back please.

I've seen them plenty of times good and bad but fuck me this hit me right in the feels. Was not expecting it to be this good, like everyone coming full circle, together.

Fully worth the banging hangover today.

Kinda was all about him and his brother, thats the point.
That wasn't what I meant.

At Cardiff he'd fucked off in a car while his brother was still saying thanks to the people that had come to see them.

That's my point.

Thats the negative narrative apparently.

Lets face it if you're pushing 50 odd you are not hanging around at the ground getting fucked up until the sun comes up.

They absolutely smashed it last night if you are in the vicinity I highly recommend you attend.

Seriously considering spending 900 notes on a redo of last weekend. Only the weather forecast is stopping me right now.

Go and enjoy it.

The Mrs. and I flew to Paris from the States for a long weekend last year to see one of my favorite bands in Montmartre. Worth every moment.

Yeah we did last weekend and was seriously one of the best nights we've ever had.

How much is that worth? Would it still be as good though?

Can get tickets for $450 each which is ridiculous, but you only live once eh?

Last night was unbelievable.

I've watched a lot of Liam's solo stuff and I've watched a lot of the bands 2000s gigs on YouTube and Liam has been 'tearing' in to the songs live for a long time.

Last night was like stepping in to a time warp and coming out in the 1990s. His voice was absolutely stunning, as smooth as it was in Definitely Maybe and What's the Story (Morning Glory).

The crowd was fantastic, but you could still hear the band clear as day.

If this is it, what a way to sign off.

If they tour again, I'll be there.

Wembley looked fun.

Going again to Murrayfield. Luckily I'm travelling right past on the very day they are playing. Be rude not to get off the train.

in other news:

The older brother of Oasis stars Noel and Liam Gallagher has been charged with rape and a string of other violent sex offences, The Telegraph can reveal.
Paul Gallagher, 59, who lives in East Finchley, north London, was charged by Scotland Yard following an investigation that began last year.
As well as rape, he is also accused of three counts of sexual assault, three counts of intentional strangulation, coercive and controlling behaviour, two counts of making threats to kill and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He is due to appear in court in London next month.

Sounds like a right piece of work if true.
