Eh..that's arguable. I wasn't taken with the game. Anyway, the best American developing teams are Naughty Dog and Insomniac.

Ion Storm (or have they been shut down after Thief 3 and DX2?)
Midway/Atari Games (have had some awesome games over the years and are on the rise again)
Bethesda (Morrowind was awesome and Oblivion looks incredible)

Also, Swinging Ape will be a developer to watch. Metal Arms was pretty good.
