Of all the systems you have owned, which one were you MOST hyped for?

I hate to say it, but probably Wii, because it offered a completely new input experience. 360 and PS3 were nice to have and ttey have way more mileage than my Wii, but they just weren't as exciting.

Got my PS1 a year into it's launch, Saturn 2 years after launch when it went on sale and came bundled with like 4 great games.

I did not buy an N64 until Ocarina came out and is the only game I ever bought for the system. Was worth it tho.

I was pretty hyped for Dreamcast. I loved Soul Blade and I had heard beforehand that Soul Calibur was the best looking game ever made (and it was!). Also I was excited for Crazy Taxi at home, NFL2K, and Power Stone!

PS2 launch was pretty lame, I bought SSX which was the best game at the time.

I didn't get either the 360 or PS3 at launch, like a year later on both. PS3 came bundled with MotorStorm which was amazing and I am glad because I never would have tried the series otherwise.

I got the GBA at launch because of Castlevania, SOTN was my favorite game and this was the closest thing to a sequel. Was a little underwhelming and no back light was a huge turn off. Waited on the DS and 3DS. I got a Wii years into it's cycle really just for Mario Galaxy.

I was very hyped for the PS4 despite none of the launch games being earth shattering. I preordered it the moment they announced no always-online, tradable/sellable games, and the Price. I was a big Killzone fan but that launch game was kind of lame. ResoGun was good.

PS5 I was not very hype but I got it day one (glad I did because they were so hard to find after) and I got to play several PS4 games at better settings, which was great because I was still playing Ghost of Tsushima and dabbling with Last of Us 2 replays. Also got those free like 12 games and got to play God Of War 2018 and Detroit for the first time and those were great.

So most hype overall I guess it was Dreamcast.

PC, every time i upgrade the main parts or get new one, it's a great feeling, which i just have after over 10 years, and it must be the same for the console users as well,, it's a buzz.

PS3. Peak console wars forum trolling hate speech, f your mom warzone. Then i had to cope why games on PS3 look and run like shit compared to xbox360 for the next 2 years :pie_roffles:

OG Xbox for Halo CE and Munch's Oddyssey. I just remember being in awe of the previews. Was a huge fan of Abe and seeing an open world 3d rendition was...more exciting than the actual game turned out to be. Halo obviously delivered.

Honorable mention to Nintendo 64 and Mario 64. First console I bought with my own money.

I felt excited for everything but the most excitement I ever got was getting Sega Genesis for Christmas.

Dreamcast

Only remembering give me chills. Every month was a new thing to see, vibrant colors, graphics got sharp for the first time, and basically every character in every game dances in their stand still pose or whatever

I also remember a tv show called Cybernet (maybe was British) doing a lot of justice to the console

PS2

The jump in graphics and quality was unreal.
After that, it became less noticeable with each generation.

ps2 4sure, it fellt like piece of alien space ship when u saw it in ads and later did unpacking/first boot :)

U can literally feel hype pouring out of that vid.

I missed out on the PS2 hype. I had to play at a friends house, but it made me hyped when I got my hands on a used fat 80 gig PS3 fully backwards compatible.

I bought PS4 when Bloodborne came out. I was more hyped for the game than the system but that hyped kinda died down when my friend who also bought a PS4 for the game ended up being trash at Bloodborne. He started looking shit up. Ever since then I decided I would always do first playthroughs on Souls games blind and solo.

It's gotta be Xbox 360. My buddies and I talked about it and planned out for ages how to get one at launch. I ended up being the first person in line at a local Walmart, waiting more than 12 hours in line to get one. That said, SNES is up there. I didn't get one right away but wanted one so badly. The joy when I got one is impossible to forget.

PS2.
I even remember dreaming about the console.
It was my fifth system, and I can safely say it was well worth the wait. The best generation I've ever experienced.
