Sorry but Reilly brought up original soundtracks and I started thinking about games coming out this year that SHOULD have amazing soundtracks. FF12 (VS composer!) and Zelda : TP are my predicitons for the two best this year.

But for this year, so far, can anyone think of anything that's been released that is interesting?

The year has just begun so yes, it is early, but I have to say the music in DoC is pretty good (the game stinks but i've already stated my opinion on it).

Shin Onimusha is okay too. Two for the year so far for me.

What's the story on Kingdom Hearts II? I loved the first game's soundtrack, Yoko Shimomura is great.

Akira Yamaoka's album iFUTURELIST came out too, although that isn't technically a video game ost

Sega Rally 2006's soundtrack is great too, <3 Hideki Naganuma's track

What's the story on Kingdom Hearts II? I loved the first game's soundtrack, Yoko Shimomura is great.

It's decent, but nothing too special -- mostly consisting of remixes of KH1 music. The original stuff's pretty good though.

Metroid Prime 3 is my bet for a good soundtrack. Let's hope they do it again.

The KH2 soundtrack was pretty tame. Nothing noticeable came out of it for me.
