Philly has proved a lot to me over the last few games. I'm going to feel sorry for them when they end up facing either Heat/Pistons

Great... I was greeted with this headline on ESPN.... "Every player has a weakness, right? Not LeBron James, and that's what makes him so special, writes John Hollinger. Story" Ugh...

Anyway, I'm happy with tonight's results. :D Both New Jersey and Philly won while Cleveland lost yet again. Unlike Bron, Iverson is literally pulling Philly into the playoffs by getting them the needed Ws'. Iverson is leaving nothing on the court. I definitely think this is one of his best seasons ever.

Cavs at Detroit next. Things could get ugly....

(

Fortunately for the Cavs, Philly and the Nets play each other on Sunday, which means one of those two teams will get a L. Unfortunately for the Cavs, with 3 games remaining Philly just needs one win to clinch a playoff spot. The Nets just need to finish at least even with the Cavs and they'll win the tie-breaker.

The Cavs need to finish at least 2-1 to stand a chance I think.

Cooter

Lacks the power of instantaneous movement
Is it because of Philly's record that AI is not considered when people discuss the MVP race?

He has had a tremendous year and probably his best ever. Without him the Sixers would be below the Knicks in the Atlantic.

I’m not saying he should win but at least be considered.

LOL @ Hamblen calling a timeout down 8 with 13 seconds to go and no Kobe on the floor. :lol

Hamblen sux. They should have left him in for the triple dub and maybe had a chance to win too. Chucky blows >_<

jesus Damon Stoudamire chucked up TWENTY ONE three pointers by himself in tonights game? :lol He just jumped to the top of Mitch's free agent wish list.

Duke graduates should not be allowed to play in the NBA:

Bobby Hurley: Horrible car accident, was never the same after.

Grant Hill: Ankle injuries have totally fucked up his career.

Jason Williams: Retard rides a motorcycle without a helmet, may not play again!

Luol Deng: Torn wrist ligament, will miss 3-6 months

Am i missing anyone else?

Elton Brand: Doomed to miss the playoffs for eternity with the Clippers.

It's clearly a curse...and we know which UNC grad (and thus lifelong Duke hater) is responsible for it...

I can understand David Stern wanting to pump him up

With Stern wanting a 20 year age limit, I don't understand why he'd want to pump Bron up. Just smacks of hypocrisy to me.

You're right though...Kobe's taken a king-sized elephant shit right in the face from fans and media for the Laker's turn in fortunes this year (this after he was being called Jordan II by the same people after a couple of buzzer beating shots barely a year ago), saying Kobe's simply getting his numbers but not making the team better. Yet I don't hear the same thing being said about 'Bron, who you could argue is in the exact same predictament with the same level of talent. But if you expect consistency from the media, you're not in touch with the real world.

I love Bron though...fact of the matter is that he is a dominating player at the ripe young age of 20, far younger then many legends began their own NBA dominance, and he's six or seven years ahead of his prime. And you also have the fact that the Cavs might have the worst ownership situation in professional sports, a remarkable feat considering they just bought the damn team. :lol Firing Silas so soon was bad enough (though his relationship with McInnis was certainly rocky), but putting the head of the GM on the gulliotine barely a month later when that move didn't work out just reeks of immature, reckless, quick step fanboy-induced thinking. And such ownership simply doesn't work in the NBA...just look at the Raptors. :lol If they continue to fuck things up the way they've done the last few months,

Ugh...that sucks. Few things are more traurmatizing to a woman then a miscarriage. And as a result, it won't make Kobe feel too good either. Hope they're both able to get over this quickly.

"I love you Jalen."
"Fuck you man."

As the last Vince Carter fan left in town, I was pretty happy to see him play the way he did last night. He was able to continue the trend of previous Raptors stars that had left us bitter, broken and booing their every move (Stoudamire, T-Mac, Antonio Davis), only to have them shove those boos right back in our face with monster nights. :lol The boos defintely quieted down as the night went on, which was wierd...in fact I even heard they started a "Let's go Blue Jays!" chant by the end of the game. :lol I still like the Raptors, and was disappointed in seeing the way Vince left, but I'm not gonna act like he's a fucking axe murderer who chopped off the head of babies and got away with it. The idea that he did nothing but float the last few years simply isn't accurate...you could make that case this season, but sullying his entire career here and acting like he did nothing is a little bit much, coming from the same idiots who thought he was going to be the next Jordan. And for those who said Vince was a mentally soft player (physically that might be the case, never agreed with that assesment on the mental end), he pretty much murdered that theory. No way you can drop 39 with 19,800 people wanting your blood on the floor without being mentally strong.

More importantly the Nets (officially my third favourite team) get a big win, after dropping one to the Pacers that they probably should've won. With the Cavs now just a game ahead, the Nets have a definite shot of getting into the playoffs. Of course the Heat will probably cream whoever they face despite their current slide, but I would love to see Vince get back into the April dance.

Man, as a Raptor fan it hurts to see Vince playing so good with another team...I mean why couldn't he do that here? Hate the management or not, we were paying him 14 mil a year to be a professional ball player, not to put out some half-assed effort. So he asked for a trade and played half-assed, making it nearly impossible for Babcock to get what we deserved for him in a trade. Then he explodes and becomes his true all-star self again in New Jersey. Lawrence Frank said himself "We were fortunate to get such a high level player...". The Nets management, along with the rest of the nba is laughing at us.

Fucking Peddie should have just hired Dr. J. It's not like he could be any worse than Babcock, and it would have inspired Vince to play for us like how he's playing for the Nets. I hope they fire Peddie, and get rid of Babcock too, he just doesn't know how to draft.

"Talk to the hand!!"

The Raptors have been a joke from the moment they were born. When you have Damon Stoudamire, Tracy McGrady, Doug Christie, Charles Oakley, Antonio Davis and Vince Carter all want to get the fuck outta here over a seven or eight year stretch, it's long past due to look directly at the top and ask what the fuck is going on. This franchise has been notouriously cheap when it comes to it's management and coaching hirings. Shoot, let's look at who we've hired the last ten years to guide this fast sinking ship...

Coaches
Brendan Malone
Darrell Walker (Lord...)
Butch Carter
Lenny Wilkens
Kevin O'Neill
Sam Mitchell

GM's
Isiah Thomas
Glen Grunwald
Rob Babcock

There is one unique name on that list, and that's Lenny Wilkens. Why? Because every other guy was hired in that position for the first time in their careers. And with Lenny being ten years past his best before date, there's no credit to be given for that hire.

Toronto deserves better...much better. To constantly hire these rookies in a market that's the fourth largest in North America is a disgrace. When Van Gundy was available two years ago, they didn't even give him a call, despite rumblings that he would loved to have had a chance to coach Carter. If the franchise isn't giving every effort to give this team the best possible chance to succeed, sooner or later that's gonna rub off on the players.

So Richard Peddie, the CEO who's been running the Titanic for Lord knows how long, needs to go. If they'd canned his ass a year ago when they should have, Vince is still a Raptor. Instead they keep him on, hire another cheap ass rookie with no experience, who then goes onto make one of the worst top ten drafts in recent memory (Rafeal Arujo, while guys like Iggy and Josh were available behind him), and one of the most lopsided trades in recent memory. It's really not a good situation.

That said I don't hate Babcock...isn't his fault the dumb asses hired him. And Sam Mitchell is one of the few good things about the team this year, one of the most quotable sporting personalities I've ever seen and a fine coach to boot.

But the very top needs to be cleaned out. And the team has to be willing to spend some coin. Otherwise the ACC crowd will be booing Bosh's ass in three years when he comes back here as an ex-Rap (that's if there's anyone in the crowd to do so).

Watching the start of the game, I thought Vince was soft and wimping out. But to have that kind of 3rd quarter with a crowd that hates your guts booing your every move is pretty awesome. Add the fact that it was a must-win game for his team and it was even more impressive.

As for Bron, it's funny how when they were beating shit teams early on in their back-loaded schedule, he was making his teammates better but now those guys stink. Fact is, besides Gooden and Z, his supporting cast is not that great and they've sucked all year. They have the size to dominate smaller teams and the balance to beat bad/poorly constructed teams but they cannot beat any decent AND balanced teams. The idiot coaching staff is playing Bron 48 minutes a game as the PG and primary scorer so the kid has nothing left to play D and gets burned repeatedly. Can you believe they traded their first round pick for Jiri freakin' Welsch and have no picks in this years draft? Ainge looked like a buffoon last year but he's looking like a genius now :lol

Am i missing anyone else?

It would be really awesome if the Cavs missed out on the playoffs, giving the Bobcats two lottery picks

What was the Cavs/Cats deal?

edit NM

harlotte receive Cleveland's 2005 (unconditional) first-round pick (taking Jahidi White 062204) via Phoenix receives future Cleveland first-round pick (lottery protected) Wesley Person trade 100197) -- The Bobcats gained Cleveland's first-round pick in the 2005 NBA Draft (without condition). When Charlotte acquired a first-round pick from Phoenix on June 22 through the expansion selection, the Cavaliers were permitted to keep the pick if it fell within certain draft positions. With their trade for Jiri Welsh, Cleveland was forced to remove all restrictions on the '05 pick, giving the selection to the Bobcats.

:lol You mean it hasn't happened already? Hell they were putting the word out on his imminent dismissal some ten days ago. :lol

BTW, I'm surprised Lakers/Kobe fans aren't more up in arms over the inconsistent media coverage regarding Kobe and 'Bron. Lord knows I've made my point about the media known many a time, but Laker/Kobe fans now have irrefutable proof that the media is agenda-ridden and completely full of shit.

We're used to it by now. I just hope other Lakers fans don't start to resent Bron for it. The kid is just 20 and it's not his fault :lol

Yeah, the Lakers are losing cos Kobe doesn't make his teammates better while he is putting up 28, 6 and 6 :lol

im done with that shit. The media is already (wrongly!) convinced that Kobe singlehandedly broke up the Lakers, so they are all just piling on at this point (I still want any of them to explain to me how a guy DEMANDING to be traded can be "run out of town". ONLY IN AMERICA!) Of course, once Kobe and the Lakers start winning again, everything will turn around and start kissing his ass again, and you'll start to see these articles and columns about how great he is, and what a warrior he is (ask Iverson how two faced the media can be about those kinds of things).

at this point, i could care less. There is no more worthless job on the planet than being a "sports journalist" (unless your last names are Wilbon or Kornheiser) Seriously, WTF is the point of their existance? To tell us what WE ALL SEE WITH OUR OWN EYES? Why is their opinion any more valid than that of some guy sitting at a bar watching the game with his friends? its not.

Martha's done far more to improve the quality of life for people then any sports journalist. Hell, Paris Hilton's probably done more. :lol Sports journalists are like game "journalists"...by and large they're nothing more then professional fanboys. Since most of 'em haven't touched a ball in a structured level since grade school, it's beyond me how their opinions are so often held up as gospel...particularly when they shift so often.

Nuggets can't do anything in the halfcourt. They will get swept by any team except the Sonics, Kings or Suns in the playoffs...
