I don't have much of a choice, he's been rooting for the Mavs for awhile now. :-(

Why do you think Dampier and Stackhouse got hurt?

I feel for Bron, he's a gamer but how can you not be happy for Jason Kidd? Stuck on a shitty team all year but he somehow leads them to the playoffs with VC. Plus, they will give the Heat more trouble :D

Ok it's all set now (sorry lebron)

I AM SETTING DOWN SOME RULES

1. Konex may not root for any team
clause A: Unless you find a team of which there are no Fans for (which I thought was NJ but the VC love ruined that)

2. Incognito needs to show his pansy ass in this thread

3. Lakers fan keep the draft talk to yourselves

I wish the Spurs would've taken this game more seriously, so they could get their 60th win. Right now, they look bored out there. Just cruising until it's over. Boo!

Yeah, would be nice to get that 60th win...would that be two years straight or three?

Anyway, Nets finally get it done, but barely...Kidd really looked bad in the fourth with a host of turnovers (trying to dribble through three players? Even a rookie wouldn't try that with a playoff spot at stake). If RJ can come back and be even the slightest bit effective, and Shaq's health is still ailing, Jersey could give the Heat some trouble.

This is something I can support. Referring to #3, maybe one of the Lakers' fans can start the NBA Off-Season Thread and talk about the draft there...?

I honestly haven't seen these kind of slick matchups for the playoffs in an eternity. These are probably the best since the Jordan monopoly run(s).

Spurs v. Nuggets
Rockets v. Mavs
Pacers v. Pistons
Nets v. Heat ( I hate VC, but even I have to admit he's crazy to watch)
Bulls:)D) v. Wiz

Absolutely meaningless for the Bulls, but if the Pacers lose they drop to the 7th seed....meaning they play Detroit in the first round =D

how is the Nets/Heat matchup slick at all? RJ will prolly be back in the lineup but how effective can he be without any BB-action in 3 months? another huge hole will be what sank the Nets in the Finals a few years ago - absolutely no answer for Shaq. granted, VC has more than filled Martin's absence, but i'm not sure that will be enough.

yeah, but if Shaq doesn't play the first game and the Nets could steal that first game....could at least make it a 6 game series. be fun to watch.

ESPN.com is reporting that Shaq may not be ready for the playoff opener. I dont' think the Heat can beat the Nets as hot as they are w/o Shaq. IF Jersey can take a game(if not two) before going back home it may be upset time.

Wow, the Cavs redefining "collapse" this year. See ya next fall Bron. The Nets aren't a problem for us. We'll be fine when Carter disappears, and an already average RJ comes back lame. Oh, and Jason Kidd beats his wife, so that automatically puts them in the loss column. Firing Silas wasn't the answer. Silas was helping that team, and they would have made the playoffs with him. Now, they're spectators. The Cleveland management should fire itself. I mean, the only good thing they've done was sucking bad enough to win Bron in the draft. Yeah...good job there, team. Watch us win the championship, bitches.

Faker fans. There's a temporary chance to hop on the Heat bandwagon. Abandon your false god. The Big Aristotle is the fucking messiah. Hop on for the big run, but you'll have to return to your team of flunkies next season. You guys aren't worthy of the Heat. :p PEACE.

That sucks that that bitch VC gets into the playoffs and Lebron goes home. The Cavs sure fell apart though. Sure the first 50 games of their schedule was pretty weak, but McInnis disappearing, Z getting hurt, Jiri Welsch not helping them at all, and the coach being sent packing sure didn't help things.
Oh well, I hope Bron goes home and gets mad and uses that to get better.

And Silas deserved to be fired due to his "C U Next Tuesday" comment he made.

I don't see how David Stern allowed Vince to get in the playoffs and Lebron not. Did Dick Bevetta even officiate the Nets game? There isn't a less likeable guy than Vince Carter in the NBA right now, and that includes Kobe. Don't know what's up with the commish these days...

Anyways, I think the playoffs are going to be on the boring side, at least for the early rounds. In the East, the Bulls are not going to fare well without Eddy Curry and the Sixers/Nets/Celtics are all total yawns. In the West, I don't really see any upsets in the first round, which is dissapointing. Maybe Sac can pull it off; they do have the Ewing Theory going for them. It wouldn't really shock me if they made the finals or something wacky like that.

As for who I am rooting for: Indiana (go Jermaine O'Neal!) in the East, and Phoenix and Dallas in the West. In reality, it's gonna be a Miami/San Antonio finals/

Snow said missing the playoffs will serve as a lesson.

"If this doesn't drive you to put in your work in the summer and come back and cut out all your agendas, and realize that this is still a team game, I don't know what will," Snow said. "You've got to play team ball."

Who do you think he's talking about? :D

Everybody can blame the Cavs management (which they do deserve), but some blame has to go to Bron as well. In second half the season, he had little confidence in his teammates, which caused them to play even more timid. By the end of the season, most of them were just standing around watching waiting for what Lebron would do next. As for his assist numbers, they aren't hard to come by when he gets the ball every possession and plays 48 minutes.

Him being injured is the reason we got iced by the wolves last season. I hope we can hang on to him after this season, but its not all that realistic.. unless we trade the cat (so soon?) and starrt his ass.

P.S. why is stephen a smith so damn angry about sports? its okay dude, smile

Sorry bruh, but when it comes to hated players, kobe stands alone. Carter may have pissed off some folks north of the border, but with him bringing a nets team everyone left for dead from the lottery to the playoffs and doing it while playing better than he did back in the days when he was the "air apparent", he's winning over more and more of his former detractors. And when he's playing like this, what's not to like? All the talent of kobe, only more exciting to watch and without that cocky, arrogance that rubs so many people the wrong way.

I've been a Carter fan since UNC, he hasn't pissed me off yet. His fall from grace was more a reflection of buckling under the weight of carrying a joke franchise by himself combined with injuries, more than any fault in him. He made a mistake resigning with the raptors (he should've been a bull dammit), but that's in the past now. And this honeymoon is bound to last longer as his best teammates now are Kidd and Jefferson, instead of Alvin "crippled" Williams and Antonio "stonehands" Davis.
