Belle King: "Did you know 'Horatio' was the first CSI?"
Horatio: "He was...the what?"
Belle King: "In Hamlet. When Hamlet was poisoned and dying, he asked his best friend Horatio to tell the world who murdered him."
Horatio: "Ok...I'll tell the world."

So what's this all about?: Think Law and Order but with a kick. The series is based on the actions of each individual crime lab as they attempt to solve cases and put all sorts of evil-doers behind bars. But what makes it so great is that the characters are well developed and there are many cases of clashes with other groups such as the FBI primarily and infighting within the Crime Lab itself.

Where can I watch?:
CBS always has the newest episodes up for you to watch at any time. But it seems to be only for American viewers as of now.

So what about the rest of us!?: You can still watch the episodes online if you miss them on TV. There are many sites that have videos(legal) just Google "Watch CSI online" followed by your version of choice. One great one is WatchCSIFree.

Which one should I watch?: Doesn't matter. One thing about having 3 titles going on at the same time is that it's hard to catch them all, but that's what the internet is for. It doesn't matter where you start off as there's not really anything connecting the separate series together. But CSI Miami has David Muthafucking Caruso!

"I don't. I let him talk to me infact. He just spoke. Didn't you hear him? He just told me he didn't commit suicide."

CSI: Miami
I just finished watching Guerrillas in the Mist and the episode with the football player who got stabbed. I must say thought that Guerrillas was seriously approaching "Sci-FI" levels with that DX-4 Vapourizer gun. I googled it but nothing came up for the gun itself, just drugs lol...

Anyway I think it was the best of the two and really reminded me of BlackWater with the whole PMC's deal. And it looks like Calleigh and her relationship isn't going to last for long, with Stetler getting involved and all.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
Man Warrick is a moron, I wonder how this one is going to play out. The guy has been screwing up really bad lately and I think Grissom is going to snap.

CSI: NY

I just can't get into this one...I mean it's good but the characters are so unappealing and the plot is so stale sometimes. Especially the episode with the bird coop and the pigeons...wtf. Theme song is nice though. CSI: Miami is seriously the best one. The original kind of wore off on me but it's starting to pick up again so we'll see.:D

CSI:NY shouldn't exist.
Well I wouldn't take it that far. I usually only watch it when there's not much else on TV.

How about you watch something that doesn't completely suck ass, CrushDance?

Ugh, I fucking hate this show. It's killing TV.
Aw come on! How is it killing TV? The new season of Miami has been freaking awesome so far. Same with the original CSI.

I'm sorry that you're missing out :p

Gil Grissom is the FUCKING MAN.

I actually like it. I like it better than Miami.
"mmm ma name isa Mac":lol You kidding me? I can't think of 1 arc in NY that equals some of the major ones in Miami.

Journeyman is a good show, no doubt about it. But none of the characters give you that "I'm really into it" type of feeling even in some of the most emotional moments...I felt nothing.

oh snap, please dont turn this into a csi vs law and order thread. ive had enough of those

Las Vegas is the only CSI serie I can watch, but overall I think the whole CSI atmosphere is pretty fucking depressing. I've never seen so much soulless, tired, depressed characters with the crappiest lives ever in any other TV show

The crew says hi, bitch.
SVU owns. Probably has the best emotional connection out of all these crime shows, not to mention a really well thought out plot. It's kind of like watching a movie at times.

However, the new generation must always surpass the old. And CSI wins in terms of being more well rounded. Law and Order tends to be a bit more serious and entail events that hit close to home.

So get out of the way!

CSI Las Vegas: Great show. It's a bit tired, but still very entertaining.
I take it you haven't seen it in the last couple of years. Yes, it went through a bit of a bad patch (roughly around the same time they were getting the two spin offs up and running), but recently the writing has been superb and they've totally reinvigorated the show.

Edit: Forgot to link CSI Pieami

You are correct. I'm still catching up.

This thread sucks worse than the show. That's a lot of suckage, btw.

CSI: New York is fucking terrible and the reason is its cast, just pure shit right there.

Other two are great though

I like the fact that the shows are color-coded. If everything looks all orange, you're watching Miami. If its purple, its original CSI. New York is bluish.

Can't wait for CSI: San Francisco with the pink hue!

Helgenberger once said she'd love a CSI Paris or London, and I can't help to agree with the idea. Sounds awesome because honestly I'm getting pretty sick of Las Vegas (never liked it as a movie/TV location, so fucking flashy, fake and boring)

I can watch all the Law and Orders. The CSI's seem like they try to overstylize shit, sorta "too cool for school".

Even criminal intent? Really?

Criminal Intent is definitely the weakest but I had watched one today that was pretty powerful (3 Hispanic teens kill 3 Black teens, One of the Hispanics leading the other two was an illegal from Mexico).

But yeah SVU fucken rocks. Christopher Meloni > *

The only good thing about CSI is that they use The Who's music.

Oh, and the episode that Tarantino did was also very good. I didn't know anyone in that show could act before I watched it.

The original CSI is the only one that is consistently good. Miami gets a little 'cartoony' sometimes. I never really got into the NY one.

All three shows are a detriment to TV in general. What's funny is people commit crimes based on what they've "learned" after watching one of these stupid shows. Everyone is an expert, now.

I agree with a lot of posts here. I enjoyed the original CSI for a long time. I managed to catch a few of NY but couldn't really place an opinion on it except considering how gritty and dark NY was, the show did a great job matching the local theme.

I just CAN"T STAND that Horatio character. God. David Caruso needs to die. That youtube of his one liners is just soo... horrible. But yeah he's very unnerving to watch especially in his copy poses every time. :\ He never does anything original. That's why I appreciate Gil Grissom character a lot more. His fanastication with bugs is a quirk that some of us can identify with here.

Some of you are saying CSI Vegas is a little stale, but the last season of CSI Vegas was so freaking awesome with the doll house killer and how it tied in with every episode. One of the best seasons of the show yet.
