What: Madden '10
Where: Xbox 360
When: September 1st... or thereabouts!
Why: Online franchise bros!

Here are some things to know:

Q: Isn't it a little early for this thread? The game isn't out until August 14th.
A: I guess, but this is only for online franchise interest! No harm in that!

Q: Well, ok, how many people can join?
A: 32 people

Q: What happens if we have like.... 27 people? Got to boot that odd man out?
A: No. Any non-human controlled teams will be controlled by the CPU.

Q: But won't the people in divisions with CPU controlled teams be at an advantage?
A: I guess, but there ARE non-division games! Plus, if the CPU is too much of a cake walk we bump the difficulty up!

Q: That sounds good. What kind of features are there in online franchise?
A: Most features of single player. There is free agency, trades, and live drafting!

Q: How about salary caps, importing NCAA rosters for rookies, and contracts for the players?
A: TBD. EA can fix these things, but as of now they are not in.

Q: BULLCRAP! What's the point of online franchise without contracts or salary cap!?
A: Relax bro, we'll come up with our own system if needed that I and co-commishes will monitor! For instance, every team has 100 "Free Agency" points to work with and a player who is rated a 90 is worth 9 points or something. I haven't really thought it through yet but we'll come up with something if needed.

Q: Well, are trades going to be monitored by your and/or other co-commishes?
A: You bet your vag they are!

Q: How do we determine teams?
A: Well, vets will get their team of course (if they are playing).

Q: That's not fair! I've been a diehard all my life why should someone else get my team!
A: Tough titties chum! Build a winner somewhere else!

Q: What if two vets both want the same team and are legitimate fans of that team?
A: I don't know yet. Depends on how active vet X has been vs. vet Y. Maybe have a grudge match to see who gets them.

Q: Ok lets say Slo and MrBob play for the rights to use the Packers, does the loser of that game get to take their picks of the remaining non-vet teams!?
A: TBD. Lets say there is a newer Saints fan on the board who wants to play in the league and MrBob loses in his bid to get the packers should he get to call the Saints even though there is a diehard here? I don't know. we'll see!

Q: Well how long is this thing going to last? I got things to do!
A: A maximum of 10 seasons (as allowed by the EA servers!) but I doubt we'd get there. Typically, a season takes between 2 and 3 months to complete depending on a number of factors. As long as everyone is still having a good time, i could see it lasting until this time next year.

Q: I'm planning on getting married in October. Is this going to affect the league?
A: No. we'll set your team to "Auto-pilot" while you're gone, which means the CPU controls you for that week or two or whatever!

Q: Have you decided on things like quarter length, accelerated clock, difficulty, and so on?
A: Not yet. All in due time.

Q: Does rors have to trade Jgar to you?
A: Yes

I'm interested. :D I would prefer playing as the Chargers, but if someone else has dibs I'd be ok with starting at the bottom of the barrel with a leftover team.

I'm tentatively in, but I may be in Europe for a week or two in September, I'll know by August.

PS That 79 for the Bears is BS.

Defense is going to come back to their dominating form this year, and the offense will FLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY LIIIIIIIIKKKKKKKKEEEEEE AAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNN EEEEEEEAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEE with jcut running the show!

Definitely interested. I was in the 360 league last year and I'm sure everyone there would vouch for my participation.

I'm a die hard Giants fan and would love to have them. Besides them, I would go with San Diego as I ended up having to use them last year as someone already had NYG.

Giants fan here but there are probably about 500 others that want them so if no one has any problems I'll take the Cardinals.

I love the franchise dynamic in that it wouldn't be in my best interest to deal Matt Leinart since at the end of season one almost certainly Kurt Warner will retire.

So pumped.

I'm down to run with the Packers.

One thing though, FMT, are you planning to start the league right after the game launches like usual? Only reason I ask is because I think you should give it a week or two so that everyone can feel the game out before committing. Or at least longer then you normally wait, it seems most don't decide whether or not they like the game until like week 8! :lol I feel bad about flaking out with 2 or 3 weeks to go during your last 360 season a couple of years back, but the only reason I did was because my 2 or 3 remaining opponents had already bailed.

Whoops, sorry. I was thinking about doing a lower tier team and try to build them up. I'm loving the FIFA style ratings in that not everyone is a 90+ and clearly the guys that got the high ratings really deserve it.

Should be enough time. Not having to use League Daddy shouldn't hurt as well.

ooo Asante is a 95. Thats awesome. I have a pretty nice CB trio again.

DeSean should be a bit higher but considering he is coming off a great rookie season im sure that rating will rise easily as the season progresses.

Blue may be taking the 'hawks since Lone hates Madden now. Striker said he'd be ok with the Browns and letting Wellster take the Gnats. I think I want the Colts instead of the shitty Raiders or maybe the Pats. The more stats I read, the more nauseous I get.
