OFFICIAL NFL Street 2 Impressions thread!!!

I havent read the reviews, but what exactly is different in the sequel? All I know is that you can run on walls

well there are different minigames and legend players, new animations and scoring etc. but i'm most interested in hearing about online performance and what kind of features (tournaments? minigames playable?) are available online and for how many players (for instance, if minigames are there can you have 8 separate players from 8 different xboxes play smear the queer and so on). the reviews of this game seem to be phoned in to me, just as they usually are for all sports games reviewed by major publications

I think I picked it up and put it down about 30 times today at Best Buy. I keep hearing it's not much different from the first, and the first got pretty tired after 3 days.

I wish I could post impressions, but I've decided not to pick it up. None of the guys here seem to be buzzing about it, and Madden is still holding my interest. I guess I'll wait for NBA Street v3. I do like the idea of a pumped up Peyton Manning passing to a 400 pound Gorilla Stokley though.

Same here, and I usually always go for the arcade sports titles, particularly the EA Big games. I've been hearing that the online play is the major new feature and other than that, the game feels too much like a rehash. I wasn't that impressed with the last game, so I'll be passing on this one. Might pick up the PSP version down the road...

Well, what's the real difference in the online play? THat it exists on Xbox?

Me, I still have to put in a bit of time with Street Vol. 1... so no buy for me. Plus, it goes against my apparently-new philosophy of paying bargain prices for all my games...

Last game I paid new-release price for is Halo 2, and I hope that record holds for at least a few more months :)

All I want to know is if the ridiculous catch up logic is still in? That's the make or break.

Indeed.

I wasn't all that enamored with the first one. Unless they fixed the stuff that made the last one unfit for long-term play (catch up logic, weak D) or added anything compelling I don't see any reason to get the second one.

Not much in the way of impressions, about to head to work.

Quite fun game, I don't see anything ridiculous in catch-up. It's a lot tougher to run in this game, more turnovers via picks or downs. The wall running makes for some eye-popping moves and situations, also makes for some awful hits haha. Pretty fun though, briefly played some Own the Street games(quite entertaining) and some regular and minigames against my buds. We had a fun time, especially with the 4-on-4.

Couldn't you turn off the catch up logic in the first game? I don't mind as much for an arcade title. I didn't really care for the first too much, but I was hoping to hear how this was on LIVE.
