Official RAW 08/22/05 Thread! Summerslam Fallout!

I was looking for some D-X video's since we were talking about it in the other wrestling thread, but i couldnt find anything. The only thing i found was when HHH and HBK make that DX reunion and then HHH turned on him back in 2002. Sucked because i remember seeing that with my jaw open. It was like one of the last WWE shows i watched until recently. Ill post it when its done uploading.
 
Jesus Christ, what a schitzophrenic RAW.

Good:
-Angle/Benjamin. OWNAGE and OMG!WORKRATE!
-Carlito and Flair. Sorry, Flair is just funny in a senile old man kind of way. I halfway expect him to walk out to an interview without any pants screaming random shit someday soon.
-The actual Jericho/Cena match was pretty decent. Cena actually sold the back injury a bit. Of course the ending sucked.

Bad:
Pretty much everything else. But especially bad were the back to back abortions of skits with Kerwin White Supremacist and Foot Fetish Snitsky. Fucking reprehensible, WWE.

All in all a pretty bad RAW, par for the course these days. One very good and one decent match do not a wrestling show make. I also liked where HBK was going before the Masterpiece o' Shit interrupted him. I swear I almost threw the remote through the screen when the idea of Michaels jobbing to that hack entered my mind. If that happens, I stop watching.
 
STFU! The Masterlock > Sharpshooter! I've seen people break the Sharpshooter, have you seen anyone break the Masterlock? I rest my case!
 
Well I guess we know where this is going....My Prediction..

Kurt wins the title as early as Unforgiven, and as late as Survivor series. Keeps the title to Wrestlemania where he jobs to HHH(whos a face). Cena wins the Royal Rumble and opts to go after RANDY ORTON'S!!!!!! World Title at WM. Unfortunatley RKO will probably end up Jobbing to Cena...But hopefully not.

It sucks...I used to be a BIIG fan of Cena..But not only has he seemingly gotton WORST in the ring, but his character is getting stale to a point where hes hardly watchable at times. Atleast Kurt will be able to carry him to some decent matches.

Atleast though, the pain seems to be almost over. Within 3 months time Orton and Angle will hopefully be our champs instead of Batista and Cena(the worst duo of champs ever)

Jesus man if I had to watch an Orton/Cena match for a world title I would probably claw my own eyeballs out.

Dare you not besmerch the name of The Legend Killer. I know Cena pretty much sucks but Randy is the truth. Last two matches with Taker are the two best matches Taker has had since his return to being the deadman.

Randy is a fucking vacuous pretty boy who stumbles over two syllable words. He is DECENT in the ring but that's about it. He is much better as a heel, tho. Maybe Cowboy Bob will stick around to be his mouthpiece, that would be kinda cool.

I be they bring Jericho back as Bischoff's manservant or something.

Come on, Randy has improved to a damn good wrestler in the ring. Hes not Kurt or Benoit but hes improving right on track(while Cena isn't). The fact that hes suffered through several lengthy injuries hasn't really stunted is progression at all. I mean just look at his Finisher, the RKO. When he first started using it, it was a poor man's Diamond Cutter.. Now its one of te most impactful moves in the WWE. And I have no problems with Orton on the mic...Theres ALOOOOOOT worst out there on the mic.

On Smackdown, either Orton or The Cap'N deserve to be world champ..But hell, I'de rather have Duke The Dumspter Drosey come back and be World Champ than that 40year old, roided up, no mic skills having, slug that is Batista.

Actually, he lied about his age, jobber. He was actually born January 18, 1966. NOT 1969, as most people had thought.

So he's even older than HHH is. And yes, he's going on 40.

Benjy could have pulled that off. I think it sucks he is more or less getting burried. The fans dont care about him, they put a belt on him for 8 months and did nothing with it.. and their big solution to fan apathy was to try and turn Jericho heel on him. No offense, but a guy who is only mildly over isnt going to be able to turn the crowd on someone as popular as Jericho. Shelton has zero mic skill, but I dont think they can fire a guy who puts on matches like that regularly... they will at least keep him around for spotfest ladder matches a la WM21.

Obviously, you've never seen the Nitro interview where Flair stripped down to his Florida Gator boxers in the ring, and may or may not have handicuffed himself to the ring. I can't remember if that was all the same interview.

but what you said about benjamin is wrong. People LOVE him, because of all the awesome matches and spots he does. (and who DOESN'T love his spots?)

When the show went off the air, Angle pounded on Cena until the champ made his own save. This brought out Chris Masters, who helped Angle beat up Cena. The crowd chanted for Shawn Michaels, and out he came. This led to the dark main event, which saw Shawn pin Masters after hitting Sweet Chin Music.

Nice to see the whole thing with Masters and Big Show was dropped.... yep, nice way t follow through with a feud.

BTW, anyone see them turning Big Show heel again in the near future? They've been having him tear throgh mid-carders with ease and the crowd does kinda pop for him. Besides, they've never pushed him as that unstoppable monster that he should be.

If they plan to keep the belt on Cena after Angle it would be a decent enough match up for Cena.


Oh and fuck the "Masterlock"... it a god-damned full nelson.

I dunno, they've been pushing him more as a "big brother"/"mentor" type. Doubt he'll go heel soon.

Anyone else notice that Jericho instructed the guards to pick him up as he was being dragged away? Not very loud but it was audible. I thought that was pretty funny. I guess the guards forgot the one thing they were supposed to do.

As far as HBK/Masters....WWE really must believe in Masters to use HBK to help him get over. Maybe he is going to show something in the eventual match between the two. I mean, he has the look, but I just can't him being more than a slow big man because of all the muscle mass. Hell HHH even had to lose some mass to start putting on good matches again.

All he did was being their mouthpiece... But he sucked anyway.


I'd rather see a match with the oddities than see a match with the thrillahs... Ughh.
