Sutherland reveals 24 movie plans

Kiefer Sutherland has revealed that a movie version of his hit US TV show 24 is to be made in London.

The actor, who plays hero Jack Bauer in the thriller series, told chat show host Jonathan Ross about his plans on his BBC One show, which airs on Friday.

"We're working on that," he said. "We'll shoot the film here. We're really excited about it.

"In the US, 24 was slow to catch on but in the UK it was big so Fox stuck with it, so thank you Britain."

Sutherland has starred in the Fox TV show for five series and is reported to have signed up for three more.

Let the speculation begin!

I wonder if it will be a prequel, or if it will start a major new story arc, and serve as a big-ass segway into a new season. Anyway, I can't wait for more details!

Will the name be 2½?

24: The Movie in 2.5 Hours!

Jack Bauer's Tea and Crumpets

Jack Baeur in a Not-So 24-Hour Based Movie

Jack Bauer's Day Out

The movie will have no one getting in Jack Bauer's way, that way he can get his day's work done in like two hours instead of having to deal with all of this bureaucratic bullshit over a twenty four hour period.

So it's a dialogue-less two hour montage of Jack shooting surly men? Nice.

And cursing. Don't forget that he'll finally be able to say something other than "damnit".

If they could also figure out how to get Kim topless, it would easily be the best film ever made.

That'd be freaking awesome.

And I remember that short teaser between seasons 3 and 4 had Jack saying "I can find my own fucking job." That alone gave me a hard-on.

Damn.. What if they just made the movie 24 hours long but just split it up?

hm. a 12 part movie...

i guess it wouldn't be so out of the question since they make practically 20 hours worth for tv.

I watched that interview, he said its not real time, the 2 hour movie will represent 24 hours and PART of it will be set in...he didnt actually say london, he said here, but probably London i guess.

Apparently the fact that its not real time will allow them to 'move around a bit more'.

He also confirmed that he'd love to do another series.

So it'll lose the only really interesting thing about the series? And it'll just be a generic action movie staring Kiefer Sutherland.

At least it'll be better than The Sentinel.

The show hasnt been actual real time for years, theres loooooads of anomalies (normally involving cars travelling miraculous distances between episodes) what makes the show interesting is the pace of the action and storylines, theres no reason any of that will be lost.

I want a 24-hour 24 movie.
That would be hilarious...endurance movie watching!

"I need to go to the washrooom!!"
"NO! JACK BAUER doesn't go...why should you?"

Body-counts wherever Jack Bauer goes.

geez, if Jack has the same body count in the movie as he did in Season 2 or 4....the people who had never seen the show would think they were watching "Rambo 4: AfganiJack"
