Ok Canada, I have to ask.

Yes because we all need to see graphic spousal abuse on TV. I'm sure they had their reasons for objecting to the ads. Especially if they were intended to be run on daytime TV.

The message is good, but too many will find it funny, so it's not all that effective.
I dunno, I thought the second one was very disturbing.

My girlfriend works at a domestic violence shelter doing transitional housing case management. I need to show her these.

Actually I heard a year ago from one of my professors Canada was contemplating adding another province that was a tropical island. But, I guess that fizzled out.

I was actually freelancing as a grip when these ads were made, and the writer and director both knew while we were making these that they would never in a million years go to air on television.

It's funny because even though they made the ads for TV, they've had much more exposure to people via the internet than if only local broadcasters had aired them

Yep...for the life of me I cannot remember it's name. It's off of the Atlantic Coast; there was word of either adopting it as part of Nova Scotia or making it a seperate province. Something islands, or something.

Apparently talking about domestic violence is some sort of taboo, so "ending the silence" is central to campaigns against it all over the world. The UN even sponsors campaings with that exact content in 3rd world countries.

I think banning those videos somehow confirms that it's a taboo. They should have been aired.
