At one point in his presentation Kojima even showed a special video message from Sony's Ken Kutaragi, who thanked Kojima for making such a great showcase for his new hardware. It's also worth noting that Kojima had a PS3 test machine (which looked like a slightly oversized PC) on the stage with him to generate the real-team video footage.

God damn, KK made a video thanking kojima. Good thing too, his game has practically... err, no, i won't go there. :D

The 'Next Gen is over Bitches' pic needs to make it here! :D

Sony and Konami seem to have a tight relationship. This is true. But why buy them when Konami is already giving Sony the bulk of their suuport. They announced a ton of PS3 games and what do they give X360?

Rumble Roses.

Talk about a slap in the face.

Guess what, Kojima also made a video for Nintendo saying how he loves the Revolution and stated that something like it should have been made a long time ago.

I guess Kojima is leaving Konami to work at Nintendo!

PS- Ken Kutaragi has little influence on business matters now in Sony I believe, since he was demoted.

well i wasn't serious about a buyout. I think konami is too big for it to happen regardless (i mean sony could do it, but it would hit their already red inked ass a bit hard me thinks). But yea, their relationship is tiiight. Maybe they could just grab kojima studios and make it a sony 1st party. I doubt kojima would mind having a share of the SCE powerhouse (which he would no doubt get as a result). :)

its not the first time :D

kojima also had a special message at e3 when kutaragi showed the PS3 at the sony conference. he was praising it and told MGS4 was on the way.

btw i demand a new survey in next famitsu. "what console are you most interested in now that tgs is over" :lol

LOL. he is the head of SCE. Everything that has ANYTHING to do with the video gaming divison comes down to him. The playstation division has been one of the few profitable outfits at sony. don't kid yourself, junior.

btw, it wasn't kojima that made the video...sheesh.

Bingo and then there is this little matter that was announced:

Sony forms Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide studios (SCE WWS). Combines all of its game development studios into one.

Sony is pretty much has like the biggest dev house in the world now. And Ken is head of SCEI. Little influence my ass.

It's not so bad... 6 to 3 games so far...

PlayStation 3
-Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
-Gradius
-Jikkyou Power Pro Yakyuu
-tba RPG
-tba Soccer
-tba Action

Xbox 360
-Rumble Roses XX
-World Soccer Winning Eleven
-Jikkyou Power Pro Yakyuu

...Konami's also announced more DS games than PSP so far total. MGS should be pushing harder for marquee games and ports though. Stuff like MGS4, Silent Hill 5, Suikoden, Castlevania, Goemon, and so on... not just sports.

Sony is just kicking ass left and right at TGS, they are just going for the jugular. TGS is beating the crap out of E3.

TGS ahead of E3, are you crazy? E3 is alot bigger.

Konami's flagship series is on Xbox 360, i think they would lose some league licences if the game went exclusive to a platform, they wont do it since it's the key to outsell Fifa in Europe.

When two of three next-gen console competitors shows more about their next thing on TGS than on E3 then it's quite certain that TGS was the show of the year.

It's bigger but there have been alot more itneresting games shown at this TGS. The one thing better about E3 this year and TGS is the coverage. The TGS coverage is really bad compared to E3.

That's because smaller teams are sent to TGS. Several guys can only do so much coverage as compared to entire staffs. It's a lot more expensive to fly across the ocean than to fly across the state (since a lot of journos are in CA)

Don't forget that Sony unveiled PS3 for the first time at E3. I thought that was exciting as well.

TGS has been very exciting this year, but generally E3 is a bigger show.
