So where does OH SNAP come from? Is it common or GAF specific?

It's wierd how some slang can come back into vogue (like saying "Word" or "Oh Snap"), but other things remain relics of the past (like 'Illin' or 'Bugging').

It's just a way of marking when something signifigant and unexpected has occured. Example: Ultimate Warrior tells audience "don't let the tin cup hit ya in the teeth when I kick it at you in 10 years," and the audience responds in shock by 'oohing' and one dude yelling "AW SNAP, AW SNAP!"
