Okami and Viewtiful Joe VFX Battle trailers from Clover Studios

Wow...I hadn't really seen any video of Okami before this. Just...wow. That's fantastic.

Fall release? I'll see if a PSTwo is in the cards for then, I guess.

someone mind telling me what the fuck this okami game is about exactly and how it plays? I was totally confused by that video. You play as a wolf/dog (OMGWTFBBQ, totally stolen from Twilight Princess ;P ) and draw on the environment to make things happen?

Some sort of button combinations opens up the drawing tool, and then you draw, and then shit happens...I think.

That's the most innovative part of the game but there's also adventure and traditional action in it.

uh... mind explaining what's so innovative about it? how do the gameplay mechanics of it work?

I hope Viewtiful Joe turns out good, video was neat, seems a little hectic though.

And Okami looks as awesome as ever.

Okami looks amazing. A must buy for fans of video games.
VFX battle doesn't seem very interesting to me. I'm more excited about Scratch! Viewtiful Joe.

see, it's not that hard to post video in an open format!

screw those asf asx and wmv dumb format that change codec each 2 months

Yeah, a DS version of Okami would make sense, but somehow I doubt we'll see one. But anyway, come on Clover, what the heck is Mikami working on over there?

Indeed, I'm quite surprised at how good this looks. A true console sequel released exclusively on a handheld but looking nigh identical to the platform version. But the little DS has been surprising me lately on the visual front. Nanostray, Lost in Blue, Goemon, MP:Hunters, & others all look very impressive. VFX battle looks to be a little on the shallow side, but we'll see. Okami as stylistic & beautiful as ever.

What makes VFX Battle look more shallow than the regular games? Is the battle system more shallow, or is it the lack of any puzzle segments ('cause I assume there won't be any given the game concept)?

The battle system & the limited number of selectable characters (8) is what I was referring to Kiriku. Esp. if they are all are using the same VFX powers, & none are character specific. Since it's not known yet, that's why I said "we'll see."

OK, in that sense I'll partly agree with you. But I think it would be hard to come up with new VFX powers, especially since the VFX powers are such extreme specials and could easily make the game unbalanced. I think it would be totally acceptable with each of the characters having special attacks (non-VFX) separating them from each other, while sharing VFX powers. Only 8 characters for a game like this would feel cheap though, hope that's not the case. We'll see. :)

Wow, both games look really good and so does VJDS (a shame its on the DS).

And I think Capcom will throw more than 8 characters into VFX. The game will probably have a lot of unlockable characters in it. There will probably be around 16 characters when all is said and done.

All 3 games look amazing, but VJDS should definitely have slowdown or it won't be a true VJ title. Also, Okami seems perfect for a DS title other than the graphics.

Wait, what? VJDS doesn't have slow-down?? Why is that? And does it feature the other VFX powers?
