Oli and others in Houston areas: Horrible Flooding

I never expected flooding like this. Last night there were large rainstorms over Houston and over Victoria. I knew it looked bad, but I didn't think that there would be no drainage larea left. Result = flooding of Wharton County. There's 3" of water in my grandparents' house. It's never been like this before, and I'm up here near Austin. My gut instinct tells me to drive home and help, but I've got two days of classes left before Thanksgiving Holiday break. Man, is this ever the pitts.

It's been bad in San Antonio too the past week or two. If I see one more weather crawl during a sports broadcast I'm going to shoot something...

I flooded Houston and had to retreat to St. Louis.
My mom won't be happy when she hears about this one.

There was 3" of water in my grandparents house, and Fox26 news showed the house and my grandfather mopping up water. People are having a heck of a time in El Campo.

Yeah its pretty bad. I didnt think I would make it to work today but I did. There was one spot with a stalled car which I didnt think my car would make it but it did.

So, how many cars has East Houston/I-10 claimed this time? :lol

And yes, it's been raining like mad here in Austin. The weather priests have been saying we're getting more tonight around 10ish, and it should last until 1 or 2 AM. Maybe a bit more on Tuesday, and then clear weather Wednesday onward for the weekend.

OT: Did Houston ever get any decent arcades? I wasn't able to find any the past few years I lived there, aside from the 2 on the UH campus.
