Olly the Jack Russell terrier forgot the first rule of skills competitions: It's generally best to avoid falling flat on your face.

Still, that didn't dampen the rescue dog's enthusiasm at a Friday skills competition at the annual Crufts dog show in the United Kingdom. Paws akimbo, mug applied directly to turf, Olly simply scrambled to collect himself, gathered some momentum and conquered every one of the remaining obstacles — often by missing them entirely.

Something hilarious and feel-good for GAF. Anyone remotely aware of the Crufts Dog Show in the past few years as undoubtedly seen Olly, the Jack Russell who loses it every time he gets on the agility course. He's best known for this faceplant reported in the article earlier this year:

But he's been failing at agility since at least a year prior.

And here's him trying his darnedest to get the weave poles right.

That's the fastest dog I've ever seen. I've got a Pomeranian/Chihuahua/Llasa Apso mix I was certain was a Rat Terrier before I got the DNA test done due to his speed, energy and prey drive. But he's not as quick as that Jack Russell.
 
Olly is adorable but Crufts is a parade of selfish cruelty that needs to be binned.

So thumbs up for Olly but Crufts can get fucked.

Bad owners. High energy dogs need an outlet. We'd toss a soccer ball into the backyard for ours and he'd go crazy pushing it around with his nose. If you don't drain their energy, they will direct it somewhere else.

Indeed. Every dog has different energy needs, and if you don't fulfill them they'll channel it elsewhere. A lot of the small terriers were bred to actually hunt and kill things. Unless you have a lazy specimen like I do, you're better off getting something like a shih tzu.

Makes sense. Most people I see with them are pensioners.

We just adopted a Jack Russell Chihuahua mix and this is so true.

Ours is incredibly affectionate and loves to cuddle, but only after being played with for at least half an hour.
