First tragedy, then farce.
I dont know who was watching Raw, but lita went for a suicide dive onto Trish outside and hit face first, and then her neck buckled really nasty.. I have no idea how she managed to get up from that.. then she horribly screwed up reversing a stratisfaction.. then landed the worst twist of fate I have ever seen followed by a horrible moonsault.

She is GOING to kill someone, hopefully not Trish.

To be honest, it was a pretty good match, and the crows was into it.. plus how often do you see the women hitting suplexes and moonsaults and suicide dives.. and as bad as Lita is in the ring, there is seriously NO WAY she should have been in that match after that fall she took.. following that up with a superplex was crazy stupid, especially given her neck problems.

Also, props to WWE for having the balls to go with a ton of no decision, DQ matches and then headlining a show with a womens match while still leaving the heavyweight title in question. Thank God Raw is Jericho was in charge of this, because if he hadnt kept it entertaining I think I would have been MAJOR pissed. Plus, the captain charisma outfit was comic genious.

I learned:

Russians are evil.

British people are snooty.

Japanese people are crafty.

Every gay male wants to kiss every man he comes in contact with on the mouth.

You always have to raise your middle and index finger (indicating a two) after every two-count.

Every Indian wrestler, when provoked, will go on the warpath. Expect the tomahawk chop.

That's about it. But I really wasn't paying attention.

You reminded me.

Breaking the American flag is the worst thing you can possibly do. Doing it to any other flag is awsome.

You reminded me.

No foreign-born wrestler can stomach hearing, "USA! USA!"

Also, all Samoans use headbutts. Because they have, you know, hard heads.

speaking of USA chants, what was hilarious was when Jericho was interupted by Hassan. The fans started this big USA chant..

but Hassan is an Arab American and Jericho is Canadian.. so I dont know who they were chearing for :lol

Still, it was pretty scary and you don't like seeing that in wrestling even if you love or hate the competitors. A month? or so ago when Rvd was doing the sloppy german suplex to Renee Dupree freaked me out too i've got to say, i mean it really did ruin Austin's career when Owen Hart botched the piledriver when he did it to him (R.I.P Owen btw) and look at Droz since D'lo screwed up.....and they say this sport is fake and they don't get hurt geez..

Jesus, that Fedor gif is nuts. He should thank his lucky stars he isn't paralyzed. Lita's fall was pretty nasty, too, but it looks like the main hurt came from smacking her head on the floor, no real trauma fell upon her neck/back. Still, she's got some stones being able to continue on. The physical hardships these people have to put their bodies through is insane.

Man, that was brutal. Gotta give it up to a chick throwing herself around like that even if she did so very stupidly.

The best thing about the Fedor suplex is how he just completely shrugs it off like it didn't even happen. Seriously, the man keeps his composure better than anyone. It's amazing.

Nice looking move... I heard this was the main event... AND... I heard it was actually pretty good? I think I tivo'd it so I'll have to check it out....

It looks like it was her chest more than anything, but yeah, everytime I watch Lita wrestle I have to cringe...just a little bit, because ever since her days at ECW, she was always a "wreckless" wrestler. I prefer watching Trish and Molly in action. Ah Molly, how I miss thee.

Time to hijack the thread by posting Fedor pictures:

The most impressive story of continuing a match, IMO, is still Mick Foley losing his ear and continuing the match. That's just fucking ridiculous

I dunno man Fujita got him all fish-leggy with that punch. Too bad Fujita was as shocked as anyone that he did and he didn't do shit to follow it up.

That's a great idea and while we're at it, how about some Kevin Randleman loving?

Here's Randleman doing his best Black Stallion pose

Lita needs more training. Her moonsault sucks. If I didn't have a thing for red hair I wouldn't like her.

No, I think Mirko will use his feet more this fight. Randleman beating Mirko standing up was just a fluke and I don't think Randleman will be able to get Mirko on the ground.

Who doesn't love Mirko? The man is arguably the best kickboxer of all time, one of the top five MMA heavyweights and a member of the Croatian parliment. How could you not love him?

Yeah, but it was like all Fujita did was piss Fedor off. I've never seen anyone crank a rear naked choke with the sheer intensity that Fedor did against Fujita. He got rocked, sure, but he showed amazing recovery and instincts in clinching and getting out of trouble. Again, like the Randleman fight, the time from him doing the fish-dance to winning the fight was like under 2 minutes.

AstroLad said:

That ain't happening again though.

Biff Hardbody said:

I don't know. The fact that he did it once means it's possible he could do it again. But I just don't think he will. Everything my head and heart tells me is that Mirko will win the rematch. He's trained more on the ground with a BJJ world champion, he'll be more focussed, and he won't underestimate Randleman.

I'll be cheering for Mirko, but I'll be scared the whole match until he lands the home-run kick.

And what was all that editing about?

Because it's the only acronym that's not banned: IAWTP.

hehe, thread hijack: complete ;)

I'm going to say Kevin beats Mirko again. He's so explosive at times, and I think he can put Mirko down again. I wouldn't call Kevin flattening him a fluke either. It was unexpected, but Kevin planned it. I don't think he will do it (outpunch standing) again because Mirko will respect him much more this time. Still, I can see him putting Mirko down and pounding him hard again.

That being said, I think Mirko is extremely strong in defending takedowns, especially in the clinch. He's really good at keeping a tight and powerful defense there, I've always been impressed by how he does it.

Mirko is strange to me. He seemed awesome in the fight with Alex E, really he was so on in that one, he set things up, took his time. But, then in the Barnett "fight" he immediately blew his load and went for the left high kick and went straight down to the ground again. I was dissapointed to see that, because I thought the Alex fight signified a smarter Mirko.

I agree with Boogie about the Fedor rear naked. That shit was brutal. I've enevr seen Fujita in pain like that before.

BTW fellahs, did you hear that Karem Ibrahim has signed to fight Fujita in K1? This man just won the gold in Greco Roman in the olympics, and he is one badass wrestler. IHe destroyed his opponents in teh footage I saw, tossing them like ragdolls. He looks in amazing shape, and rumor has it he's trained boxing and BJJ since he was a teenager.Keep your eye out for this guy.

Agreed completely. That's why Mirko scares me, as his fan. Because sometimes he has a great gameplan, and he sticks to it. ie. the Alex E fight, even the Nogueira fight until he got mounted. And then in a fight like the Barnett one, he instantly goes for the high kick.

I really only have two theories. One is that the high kick is just to instinctive for him. It's his best weapon, and he doesn't think about throwing it, he just does. Much like Fedor instinctively going for the clinch when rocked, or Judo guys turtling up when on the bottom on the ground.

The other theory is that maybe he thought due to his training with Werdum that he could defend against Barnett on the ground, and thus he wasn't afraid to let his high kick fly and risk being taken down. If this is the case, it might be a bad thing because it might indicate that Mirko is still being somewhat overconfident, that he thinks his ground defence is good enough when it might not be.

Is that for NYE? It seems everyone's hyping Rulon (some even saying he'll be a champion within a few years) even though the man isn't even the best Greco fighter now just because he has one win over Karelin to go with 19 (I think) losses. Ibrahim is far and away a better Greco wrestler than Rulon is now.

I read some interview in which he said he isn't sure whether the kick is going to the body or to the head. He just throws a kick and then doesn't seem to have much control over it.

Stolen from Sherdog- I just love this sequence (though to be honest I like Crocop way more than Randleman overall)

1st pic : Randleman always keep his right hand up to guard himself from Crocop's left kick.

2nd Pic : Crocop noticed Randleman's right hand is down

3rd Pic : Crocop drop both his hands and lift his left foot.. and almost at the same time, Randleman unleash his left hook.

4th Pic : Ouch..

Yeah, I read that too, that's why I thought that might be the reason.

Man, I am getting SO psyched for Pride's New Years' Eve show. At first it looked like it was just going to be Fedor vs. Nogueira and a bunch of throwaway matches (ie. Sak vs Silva IV).

But now it's really looking hot. Mirko vs. Randleman.
Pulver vs. Gomi (I'm really pumped for this one)
Kondo vs. Henderson

I can't wait.

I'm really psyched for PRIDE's show as well, especially the fight in which Mirko gets his revenge :). And don't blow off Sakuraba just yet, his ancient armbar technique just might be enough to get a suprise sub on Silva :lol.

P.S. I also want to see that freak show fight of Akebono vs. Royce.

How scared is Mirko gonna be to throw that kick? Maybe he will try to GnP Randleman so he doesn't get clocked again. God damn I still can't get over what Randleman did to him standing it's like when Rampage went into K-1 and beat the shit out of Adibi, except even more proposterous.

Yes, it is.

I don't think Rulon will beat Yoshida. I believe he will be caught in a sub. I think he is a better athlete then many give him credit for, they just see a fat guy. I've read he's incredibly powerful, he'd have to be to beat Karelin at the bodylock contest the ref put him in to score a point. He's also said to have great stamina, despite looking like a tub. but fighting is different. Have to see how he reacts to getting hit in the face and things like that.

I feel terrible that Sakuraba will fight Silva again. He's taken some horrific beatings from him, and he's broken down now. This is uber Silva he'll be fighting again, Silva is at the top of his game now. I won't be cheering for Sak in this match, I'll be praying for him.

And yes, I want to see Royce VS Akebono solely because Royce said he will CLINCH with Akebono.
