It looks almost the same only a bit cleaner and the occasional texture looks redone (or maybe it's cause i have not played DoD in about a year).

Why would Valve even release these pics?? The second pic even has a huge seam right at the front of the shot. :lol

I really hope i can get it even though i bought the retail version. There is no way im paying a single cent for this when its just a port with little upgrades.

Who the hell cares if its a port or ground up?

Why port it if it looks the damn same? Why waste your damn time?

Even a slight upgrade like CS:Source kicks this in the ass tough!

Any word when it comes out??

Day of Defeat: Source, Valve's World War II-themed multiplayer action game, is approaching beta and will be available early this spring via Steam. A team-based multiplayer game that cast players in the Axis vs. Allies battles of Western Europe circa 1944, Day of Defeat: Source leverages the power of the Source engine to introduce integrated physics simulation technology, all new audio, updated maps, enhanced effects and more. More information about Day of Defeat: Source will be released in the coming weeks. For more information on Steam, please visit www.steampowered.com

It's not all about the graphics, it's about the gameplay, and DOD is one of the best mods out there. DON'T DISAGREE.

That's nice. But DoD is already available to play. Rehashing cosmetic updates to existing games is getting a bit tiring.

It's about the new physics (I hope) and not the graphics. How can a hardcore gaming community be full of such graphics prostitutes?

IT'S DAY OF DEFEAT BITCHES

DoD >>>>>> CS

Wario, this proves you are the greatest GAFFER of all time.

Those player models are from HL1 (thus the crappy look) ... I expect new ones when it is released (or soon after).

Even as a die hard fan .. the pictures are underwhelming. But DoD's strength lies in its Close-quarter combat fighting and weapon balance... not the details of a soldiers sleeve or the textures of a brick wall.

All ya'll bitches aughta just shove it. DoD is the new CS, as in what CS used to be back pre-1.0. I'll be picking up my own copy of HL2 when they release the beta.

FLF may be ported over to HL2...so the best MOD may not be DoD...let's just see if FLF will get enough dev talent to start any time soon.

Way to pick the absolute worst screens possible to post. Here are some that don't make the game look like a complete embarassment:

Not incredible, but I like it. I think it'll look great in motion.

DoD is the perfect blend of arcade/action and realism.

I'm ok with it not being massively popular ... its nice to play on servers that aren't filled with idiots and griefers.

I would rather play Call Of Duty on the source engine

Absolutely. COD on Search & Destroy mode rapes this shit. So does COD:UO Domination, CTF, etc.

RTCW on Doom 3 engine would be heavenly. I want updates of Wolfenstein, Call Of Duty on D3 engine, Battlefield 2, a good Vietnam game on a kickass engine... Well, BF2 will be out soon. I can look forward to that. My PC cannot, however. I need to upgrade.

My rusty rig needs and upgrade BADLY!!

I can Handle COD on the highest settings with no lag because it uses a lowly Quake 3 engine

AMD 2500+ Barton
512MB DDR 3200
Geforce 4 MX 440 64 MB :lol

I get paid this weekend so ill pick up a 6600GT or 6800 Vanilla........so i can handle the source engine
