Is it me, or is there something about a demo in the bottom-left corner?

Edit: Oh, augh, a demo for it is gonna be at TGS.

This looks brilliant, all these artistic titles recently are really a breath of fresh air. This has been confirmed for a worldwide release, hasn't it?

EDIT: GameSpot says 11/14/2005 as a NA release, let's hope that's accurate.

I can't help getting a Zelda vibe from this game. Hopefully we'll get a lengthy action adventure in the same vein. Looks gorgeous at any rate.

It's been delayed until Spring 2006 in Japan recently, so I wouldn't get your hopes up too much.

Damn! I had heard that Spring 2006 would be the North American release date, but if it's been pushed back that far in Japan...My earliest hopes would be Summer 2006 for North America.

Thank goodness I bought my friend's PS2 for $20 since my brother moved out and took his along with him.

We <3 Katamari, Shadow of the Colussus, Ookami :)

Seems like Clover is really investing a lot of time into the game. It's been in development for quite a while. I hope it makes its way out for the Gamecube as well.

Holy crap.

The games visuals/animation have improved since E3.

Gorgeous.
Indeed. And at E3 it was already one of the prettiest games I've ever seen.

I was talking to some guys there, how the dark -> light transformation of nature scene in the Okami demo simply looked better than the wasteland -> green nature PS3 demo on Sony's conference.

That beautiful. Rivals Shadow and the Colussus(i probably spelled that wrong)

Shadow of the Colossus! Yeah, I agree... the style is definitely in the top 10 this gen (I don't know if I favour this or Wind Waker more, but I have to play it a bit to see the beautiful vistas it presents. Wind Waker will be pretty tough to beat, especially with
Frozen Hyrule
)

Just so you know... it wasn't a question. It was an exclamation.

Anyway, Okami looks absolutely gorgeous. Can't wait to read some updates impressions come TGS.

Why are some people calling it Ookami? The address of the site itself even says Okami, is this just another case of Americans trying to be Japanese?

Really...wow, that's cool.

It's really amazing to see a game such as this get so much development time. By the time of release...what would that be--3 years?

And this is Japanese development, you know--workers work 12 hour shifts with little pay, so 3 years "in Japanese development" is pretty rare stuff. I guess Inaba has that much faith in Kamiya's work--given, the man certainly earned it.

All of his games that he has directed have a 90%+ score at gamerankings.

The address says "o-kami", which translates into "ookami". The first sign in the game's title is oo(kii), which means "big" in Japanese (unless it has a different meaning in combination with the second sign). I can't recall what the second sign means...but I think the whole title is also a play on words...as "ookami" can also mean wolf (related to the main "character" of the game), "kami" means paper (related to the visual style of the game, and the fact that you draw on a "paper" in the game) and kami(-sama) can also mean "god" (related to the story of the game).

Restarting your game from scratch multiple times seems to be the new hot development trend at Capcom.

Yeah, well not technologicall of course, but whereas that PS3 demo was your typical dry looking tech demo, the simillar scene in Okami was just somehow bursting with life and perfect use of shapes and color, which made it a lot more impressive visually and interesting to look at, in my opinion.

I really hope they give the game prog-scan and widescreen mode, it deserves every bell and whistle it can get.

Wow, that's pretty awesome if all that is true, I love wordplay. Still can't help but think the Romanized/Englishized version of it should just be called "Okami" though, like I've been seeing everywhere else in the press. It just looks right.
