The only time i get organic is if i'm juicing. Organic produce (carrots especially it seems) taste much better than the chemically-grown varieties, and considering nutrients and vitamins are absorbed faster as juice than as solids, i'd rather not be absorbing chemicals along with them. i'd eat organic produce a bit more often if it were available where i live, but it's more of a flavor preference versus the assumed health benefits.

I've never understood this organic thing. WTF kind of food isn't organic? Everything I eat has carbon in it, therefore everything I eat is organic...

Organic OJ is godly. I try to only eat locally grown eggs, and I get organic veggies whenever my wallet allows for it. It's definitely worth the little extra it costs, IMO. Organic veggies have so much more flavor. I don't eat meat, so... :p

It's been a while since i've had organic eggs, but they have a more pronounced "egg" flavor that i really don't like. i noticed it when i first went veg. i pretty much exclusively eat brown eggs now when taste is important.

I haven't tried organic OJ yet but I'm definitely picking some up next time I go shopping. Any other recommendations?

No. I buy whatever meat they're selling at the store and I don't eat any fresh fruits and vegetables. All my produce comes in a bag, can, or bottle.

Fresh stuff rots too fast and orange juice is just sugar water with a little vitamins anyway.

lol.

Orange Juice is just sugar water, and your non-produce (canned stuff = no nutrients, and can flavored disgustingness) all meat diet is supposed to be good? I must have not understood what you meant.

OJ is much better for you than sugar water. It has anti-oxidants, potassium, thiamin, and folate (a multivitamin does not compare to natural foods). However, because they typically aren't fresh enough to still have Vitamin C naturally, it's usually added. Maybe that's what you meant. But even then, other OJs are fresh enough that they don't need any additives.

I try to buy organic because I eat a lot of vegetables and fruits. Organic doesn't have pesticides on it, but there's so little at walmart. What stores do you guys get your organic stuff?

I eat five servings of vegetables and three servings of fruit everyday, it's just that they're all canned/frozen/dried/bottled mass market stuff that doesn't go bad. I've got to say though, this thread has inspired me to work a piece or two of fresh fruit into my daily diet as well to get to the coveted magical number of 9 servings a day.

Whole fruit has a much better vitamin and antioxidant to sugar ratio than does juice. And it has fiber too. Too many people pound down glass after glass of juice that has as much sugar as Coke and think they're doing something healthy.

Ok, I agree with you on that. Juice < fruit.
