As someone who has experienced EA's shitty security on accounts firsthand, I can say that they are the reason I never attach my credit card to any account I have on the internet, ever.

EA shouldn't be a reason anyway. No matter what account you use: Do not keep a credit card on file if you can help it. Doesn't matter if it's gaming or otherwise.

If possible, use the text message method. Seemed to be near instant after activating it.

happened to me also, but last year.

Russian text, my name changed.

I had to create a bogus Origin account just to file a ticket, because they ask you to be logged in to send a support ticket, which is retarded.

Finally got my account restored.

Mine was hacked earlier this year..made a thread about it. Someone bought FIFA 14 related items using my account. Ive since stopped storing my cc info on Origin (something which i should not have done in the first plc)

So my account got hacked. I got an email saying that my origin account was changed to a different Russian email.

I'm trying to reset my account, but it sends a verification code to a mobile number that is not mine. So the hackers associated a different mobile number as well?

But get this - I can't even get customer support without signing in. WHAT THE FUCK. Who ever thought this was a good idea!?

Looks like I'll have to create another account just to send a ticket...

I did not have anything like the OP, but recently I got a friend request with my Origin screenname, just with I_ in front of their username. So my name is DirtyLarry, and I got a friend request from I_DirtyLarry.
I figured it was either A) Someone who wanted the name and could not get it, so they wanted to bitch me out, or B) some weird scam.
Either way I rejected their friend request as I could not see a positive outcome regardless of their intent.
