Giggity giggity goo if old.

Recently Academy president Hawk Koch made his mark on the 2014 Oscar ceremony, despite the fact that he's only serving one year in the position and probably shouldn't be making decisions on the next Academy Awards, by tapping producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron to come back on board. Citing a need to maintain "consistency," Koch sang the producers' praises, despite the production being criticized for tastelessness in many quarters.

If consistency is what they're after then it only stands to reason that Zadan and Meron would like to bring host Seth MacFarlane back on board.
But that'll never happen, right? From the horse's mouth, MacFarlane said "no way" when asked if he would ever come back to emcee the show. Well, not so fast…

Just Jared is reporting that Zadan and Meron have already made an overture to MacFarlane. "After defending his performance, the producers reached out to Seth and invited him back to host the show again," the outlet's source says. "He’s not sure if he’s going to do it, but he has to decide within the next couple of weeks."

Take that as you will but I kind of doubt MacFarlane would want to come back for another bloodbath. I can only imagine his stern "no way" was partly due to the response. Obviously they're trying to duplicate the magic of a ratings boost last year, but I say again, if you don't think the ratings had mostly to do with the movies, you're just kind of bone-headed.

What does GAF thinks of this?

No Tina Fey and Amy Poehler?

Then yes, I'm okay with this. The last was the first one I've watched in years, because my friends were watching it. I honestly enjoyed it and what Seth brought to the table. Admittedly I'm the demographic its going for having him host, being someone who otherwise wouldn't watch.

He was ok but surprisingly 'safe' I would have loved to see Eddie Murphy do it this time.

I still hold onto the dream of seeing Bill Maher do it one year.

Seth McFarland isn't funny his shows aren't funny and he is terrible and he should know it.

Find someone else.

Pretty much. Look at the presenters over the last 15 or so years and you'll quickly realise that being asked to do the Oscars means you're probably not funny (Chris Rock aside).

...and yes, fuck Jon Stewart

And that's why Emilia Clarke left him.

Or so I like to think.
So he could start dating Charlize Theron.

Emilia may be the mother of dragons but Seth clearly knows how to play the Game of Therons.

Seth started out kinda weak at first but because fantastic later into the night. Maybe a second chance will have him great from the start; but having him back to back seems lame for a show that goes with a new host every year.

It doesn't matter who hosts the Oscars.

1) the host is not the reason they suck these days
2) any host that isn't Steve Martin or Billy Crystal will be hated.

Seth had me tuned for the whole show. First time in a long time I've done that.

Ricky Gervais would be my choice though. Loved his Golden Globes hosting so much. He pulls of the awkward, cring-inducing jokes better than Seth.

I haven't watched it in a couple of years. Are the Oscars the one where they blatantly pat themselves on the back or is that the Golden Globes?
golden globes rely more on how drunk they can get and how much they can prove to others show irrelevent they neen over the years. Kind of like the fake humble act people do in the oscars.

The only thing they do right is getting drunk

The ratings for MacFarlane was a lot higher than Billy Crystal. They are trying to reach that younger audience.
