Got a Switch 2 with Mario Kart World. Really enjoying it so far, hope it turns out as good as the first one was. The screen is really good and the joycons actually fit in my hands now. Most of the Switch games I've tried appear to run and look better so that's nice. It works well with my 1440p/120hz PC monitor which is also nice.

This arrived today been looking for something to display my mini jara weapon armory, amazon japan has so many cool storage things for hobby stuff. Sadly it got cracked on the side during shipping but not enough to really bother me. Now i can display them all and easily grab the ones i need when playing snackworld.
Got them all sorted into brand groups now, kind of wish i could get the other 4 series but alas they are just too hard to find now (sigh)
Newest bunch of switch stuff that turned up today with the keyring case. Grabbed zelda TOTK as well as fantasy life that one is about to spend a lot of time in my switch. Also rounded out my library with the 2 capcom fighting collections as well as a new rhythm game called hypnosis mic. Some odd warioware style quirk with kyuukiyomi and a new shmup in the form of the newest shikhondo.
And the new gacha i grabbed some Karamari damacy figures, surprisingly hard to grab as they seemed to be super popular took a few weeks of waiting & searching on Amazon japan till a seller surfaced offering a full set. Now seem to be totally sold out, didn't think Katamari was that popular but seems it still is.

INot a lot in this parcel but some nice stuff plus a few local pickups.
The neatest thing in here is Erdrick's emblem from Dragon quest this is literally a 1/1 life sized replica it's solid metal & stupidly heavy and with that i now own 3 of the legendary treasures. One day i'll find the helm to complete the set.
Also got a life sized mini medal from the DQ games, no wonder these are so hard to find out in the world if they are this size in person. Love getting things from the games made real.
Some more new gacha, these ones were cute & unusual.
DK barrel cushion from the UK nintendo store, they definitely did some misrepresentation on the store page as the pic they used with the lady sleeping on it made it look way bigger than it is in person.

Biggest thing in parcel was Roto's helmet the last piece i needed to complete his legendary items set. As this thing was released 14 years ago nearly all of them are in the hands of collectors making the few that aren't very expensive.
Totally worth it though as they look amazing together.

No games this time just an assortment of more Dragon quest items both UFO catcher amusement goods or prizes from the DQ fukubikisho special lottery or regular items available to buy without winning them. Not going to take pics of absolutely everything this time as it's a lot but it's a mix of goods some i'll use like the bento boxes and chopsticks other household goods stuff the rest are for the collection to display.
A UFO catcher prize of Shido, stupidly large & high quality considering it's won from a crane. The boxes tend to be gouged due to the crane prongs jabbing at them as someone tried to win it originally before i eventually bought it. Hooray for amazon japan marketplace
This book light was from one of the more recent fukubikisho special lotterys. It's really high quality the books cover is like a hardback the internal is japanese paper it Roto's emblem in gold. It closes magnetically which also turns it on automatically when you open the book, the glow is really nice it's not too harsh.
Another prize from the fukubikosho lottery this one is quite old & i had no idea it even existed till i randomly found it on Amazon J i'm amazed it was still available, it's a solid metal replica of a sorcery ring. One thing i love is finding real world replicas of in game DQ items & relics. will be one more item i can add to my little treasure chest diorama when i'm eventually ready.
Also wouldn't be a pickups post without another set of new gacha these ones are from the pac-man blister figure collection they are tiny and really nicely detailed. Not common to see new pac-man gacha. Quite small too about the hight of a switch cart.

I changed my subcription plans for Marvel Unlimited. I'm not sure if it's a yearly thing or what but they send me that box with a free comic, a pin, a figure and a patch. They even put a letter in there thanking me for resubcribing. That issue funny enough is written by Jonathan Hickman, as you know I've been reading his X-Men stuff currently

Those lil guys can do some work. I really loved the nuc line they can be super useful in the right deployments...I was always impressed with how long they just "last".2x NUC7i5BNK's

My plan was to run pi-hole or ad-guard, immich, tailscale, possibly vaultwarden as a backup, then maybe some self-hosted chat program to replace discord (fuck ID verification, if/when it will be required on Swedish discord accounts/servers).
Still deciding on "how too" run them, currently testing UmbrelOS, been up for a few days to see how the NUC behaves with immich and pi-hole servers installed and running.

I was going through my video game photo album again and thought this would be cool to share, I got Streets of Rage 2 for Christmas in 1992 and a few years ago I found it in a tote in my closet and these are the scores I recorded at the time lol. I played the game way more than this but had written these down. Just kinda nice to see stuff you did in childhood and be brought back there, time frozen in a game book.

Newest bunch of mainly domestic switch releases caught up till the next few release in the upcoming weeks. Still getting fantastic support despite it's sucessor on the market.
One import arrived the other day the dominus collection which completed the castlvania set it's nice to have them all in one place even if the graphics options could have been better as theres zero scanline type filters. playing GBA stuff that blown up without a nice dot lcd filter is rough on the eyes lol.
Also grabbed this mainly as it's a really nice king slime figure however it's actually a popcorn bucket/ You could only grab the bugger from universal studios japan, i like how when you take the strap off the tabs hide away making it look clean, thing is squishy too just how i would imagine a real slime to be.

I got a few cool things from my brothers for my birthday.
I got an 8bitdo Pro 3. It's got extra L2 and L3 bumpers which I've mapped to replace the click sticks, and it has rear mounted buttons I map dependant on the game. The face buttons attach with magnets (hence A and B being swapped in the image) and it came with another set of buttons as well. It also has these ball-top analog sticks which can pop off and be swapped for more traditional sticks. I already had a Pro 2 which I'll continue using for PS emulators on my PC.
I got a couple of things to add to my growing Fallout collection. This sugar bombs bowl and spoon set is pretty nice. They came with a tablecloth which I'll never open and a nicely embossed tin advertisement which looks pretty nifty. Even the box is nice.
I also got this Mk V Pip-Boy 3000 from the TV series. Apparently, it's a replica of what they use on the show. My arms are a bit bigger than anyone on the cast so while I was able to clasp it shut, my hand started turning blue, so it was a one-time thing. It's pretty cool though, all the knobs and dials work, it has all the menus from the game plus a few extra modes, and it works as a clock and FM radio. The weathering is acrylic based and can easily be removed with alcohol, the instructions even specifically explain how to redo the weathering to my liking which I will do at some point since I have plenty of experience with weathering effects through building model kits.

A new enhanced port of an old Amiga/STE shooter, Wings of Death for the Atari Jaguar. It uses a rarely used feature of the Jag/Jag CD combo where the Jag cart can access the audio CD and you you can have CD quality music while playing the game. The only other game to use this feature was Defender 2000, one of the last games released for the Jag by OG Atari.
A re-release of Super Asteroids/Missile Command for the Atari Lynx by Songbird.
An enhanced boxed re-release of Game Boy Color Asteroids, Centipede and Super Breakout by Chromatic and Atari. Each game comes with a color manual and a charm.

Some new gacha this time Mr Driller
Realworld replicas of certain items from the world of dragon quest.
Yet more switch games
Also grabbed these real world replicas of the illuminae cards from urban legend dissolution centre, not easy to find but they are a nice memento of my playthrough.
Some dangerous jiisan lottery stickers that i randomly found from a amazon japan marketplace seller 2 complete unopened books of them.
Few random hobby bits like the rement stuff as well as a couple of dragon quest lunch containers & a storybook from mario galaxy
Also a bunch of slime floor cushions as i like to sit on the floor when gaming so these will keep me comfy.

Last few bits before xmas, rest of stuff is released too close to risk sending it to me till after new year now. Few more switch releases, now caught up with the train games pretty much have them all as well as a couple more shmups and a weird horror game called renzu which has zero english so my japanese will be tested a lot, as it's never coming to the west so it's either try to play in Japanese or never play. From the reviews on amazon it's not meant to be good but i'll be the judge of that myself as amazon reviewers can be wildly off sometimes thankfully it was pretty cheap.
Some new gacha for the collection, series 2 of purins having a bad day lol
Final thing is this neat dragon quest slime pixel light, the lighting is pretty bright & even when on, look like one has just escaped right out of the famicom original.
Final thing is a couple of speccy themed USB sticks to go along with the spectrum. Missed out originally on the microdrive themed stick last year when they first released them as they pretty much went out of stock instantly along with the spectrum. Thankfully a year later they made more for the recent crash event and had some left over as well as a new one that looks like a tape deck, they don't do anything fancy it's just themed to look nice with the spectrum. Probably wont mean much to 99% on here as the speccy was pretty much a UK thing.
