NeoGAFs Kent Brockman

Back the KICKSTARTER on August 31st, 2022!

Experience the opening hours of a viral undead outbreak in the city of Cypress Ridge in September 1999. Choose from a wide cast of everyday citizens, each with their own unique abilities, traits and storylines as you work together with up to three friends online or via local splitscreen to escape the undead apocalypse. Choose your team members carefully, as different characters will be able to access different areas of the game.

Your group will need to scrounge for supplies, fight off the undead, and traverse the city as you hope to find a means of escape. Death is only the beginning! As players fall, they are resurrected as zombies who have one goal: kill their former allies Each scenario features branching paths and multiple endings, with your group's decisions directly influencing their ultimate fate.

They aren't here to save the day, they just wanna survive…but if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

Well, they lit the shit out of this game, so there's that...

Full platform slate is PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. (And it's also tagged #BringItToStadia, so that too?)

It's being run through Kickstarter, which has not yet launched. Looks like Limited Run has already signed on for a retail version.

Fkn seriously. Every game is 4 player survival coop lol

This one is maybe a little more fun in concept, according to the description? I don't have confidence they'll be able to pull off all the plans and make a fun game, but these Outbreak games are kind of labor-of-love homages (or ripoffs) of games made better elsewhere but not necessarily being made this way anymore, and they kind of blow through the budget to get them done to move onto the next one... OK, that's not a positive statement, but what I'm saying is, they'll probably get this thing out while you're still waiting for better games promised long before, so if you see any ideas you like in the description, maybe look out more about it later?

Is that trailer literally just 5 scenes of the same location shown from different angles?

Yep. Not much seems to be done aside from from basic motion and graphic engine.

There is a playable demo out on Stadia, and you can watch that being played if you want to see "more". It's still just 1 area, seems like no combat (has zombie sounds but otherwise all the bodies are dead) but there is a gun and a smash-boxes axe, and some simple number puzzle look-around-for-the-combo stuff (seems like it's about 5 minutes of play but all the streamers took an hour or more to get through it, so skip lots if you decide to watch.)
