It just didn't look nearly as nice as some of those screens I've seen before lead me to believe. It's a good looking racer no doubt, but there's better looking racers out there.

I like how you can tell it's still a game but it looks really really nice, Sega's arcade games seem to do that. Stuff like GT4 does look awesome in it's own right of course (super super photorealism).

GT4 is impressive in its own right just by being on the "weakest" console and still looking amazing. I'd have to go with Rallisport 2, PGR2 (which feels choppy now after Burnout 3 and Outrun 2), and from what I've seen, YES, GT4 as the better looking games. I've only seen Outrun 2 on XBox, BTW.

But that's just dumb graphics talk. Outrun 2 is a hell of a lot more fun than all three of those games put together. I play the demo over and over; cannot wait for the final game.

i played the hell out of this game in the arcade at ocean city and you only can really appreciate the graphics when you're not moving and because of that, it doesn't look as good in screenshots.

You know, it just blows me away that AM2 hasn't done a GT-like game...yeah, I know F355 was a sim racer...but really, they really should do one. Their aesthetic design is so very nice.

In actual fact those screens were NOT grabbed from the Xbox version but actually from the arcade by SEGA AM2, BUT since the arcade is practically an Xbox it doesn't make a difference anyway.

What the heck does a turd like Sega Gt even remotely have to do with Outrun2,even from side by side shots Sega GT can't compare since its a generic GT clone and nothing more. Download the videos to Outrun2 and see for yourself how great the game looks,it looks far better than any PS2 racer to me.

I'm amazed youre in this thread trying to push a view on Sega on others though. Just a few days ago you were in a thread saying Sega sucked nowdays,I wouldn't much take your word as gospel to begin with Green Giant,sorry.

From a purely visual - not technical (e.g., how many polygons the game pushes, draw distance, etc.)- standpoint, I think F-Zero looks better.

As much as I love AV and F-Zero GX, I have to say the comparison is a little unfair. The designers didn't have to be grounded in reality, so they were able to design some pretty wacky tracks (Casino City tracks in particular). Outrun is at a disadvantage.

is just meh. Amazing/Wow; that shot is not. If this was the same exact image but taken from say SRS; you guys would be crapping all over it.

And all this adoration when a game like forza can get hate for its visuals (over things like fake floor and placard people).

And F-Zero GX looks great, but the blocky vehicles prevent me from calling it the best looking racer.

And I'm not talking purely technical nor artisitic, but rather that technically, artisitically, and in terms of variety, Out Run 2 is the best looking racer I've played. (and I've played RSC, PGR2, GT4 Prologue, F-Zero GX).

Well, I can just as easily argue that saying that "Outrun 2 is the best looking racer ever!" is unfair because it's running on the XBox, the most powerful current-generation console. But things like that are secondary to the question.
