Ozempic. Does it work?

Further to my earlier point of avoiding muscle loss on Mounjaro, fresh stat from today.

Pre-Mounjaro at 115kg bodyweight
Turkish getup max 20kg

On Mounjaro at 92kg bodyweight
Turkish getup max 24kg
  • 20/115 = 17.4% BW
  • 24/92 = 26.1% BW
  • a ~50% jump in relative load
What the hell is a turkish get up ? Your mom chasing you with slippers ?

I'll never forget, about 9 years ago an overweight co-worker and myself were eating mcdonalds together for lunch.. she turned to me and said you know were fat cause we eat this a lot, right?

I looked her dead in the fucking eyes and said 'yep.'

Thats the end. People are fat cause they eat shit, and too much of it. It's simple as that. If you wanna lose weight, you gotta stop eating so much fucking food. Entire billion dollar industries have been built around the fluff of that shit. It's so simple

I started taking free samples of Wegovy (from my doc) back in August. I'm not even really a big dude aside from height (6'3, 250lbs at the time) and I noticed a difference within a few weeks.

Now since prices are all over the place, I have a nurse friend who "makes" the semiglutide herself. So I wind up with a little syringe bottle and shoot myself up once a week. Lasts about three months. The doc said he'd like to see me at 190 or under and I think I'd look like a twig. I'm already at 210, look great and my body is basically like "Yo Im good, Im not losing any more." No matter how hard I try I don't really get below that.

The only issue is (and I still suffer from it) either overly buying groceries (because I wind up not eating half the stuff because your appetite changes so drastically) or over ordering food either at a restaurant or delivery or what. Then I just end up with a shitload of leftovers that go to waste.

I say go for it if you have a good doc and can afford it. I just think its hilarious how the media worshipped obesity only 4 years ago, treating it like a thing of beauty and perfectly healthy. Now with the pendulum swinging slowly back into normalcy, it's gone completely reverse and just about everyone I know is taking something to look thinner.

I've never used it but it definitely works. With GLP-1s we may cure rampant obesity in America within a decade or so. They definitely have side effects though from what I've heard from people who take them. Diarrhea, vomiting, among other things.

Never had any side effects. The only thing I avoided for awhile was alcohol because I heard it makes you nauseous as hell. Well eventually I bit the bullet and had a few cocktails. Was perfectly fine.

I don't lose weight on it but it does an amazing job of keeping my A1C down. I also make a point to try to keep muscle mass up since loss of muscle is a common issue. I also like tacos a whole bunch.

100% this. I wish I would have done a better job here when I started the jab.

Also, this will probably sound lame or embarrassing but it's a monumental win for me. I have had a "family share 120z" bag of peanut m&ms in my freezer for almost two weeks and I have about half of it left still.

Normally that would have been gone in a sitting/single night while I was playing a game. The shift in basic "sugar lust" has been worth it for me.

Glad to hear it's working out for you! Keep up the protein, calcium, and strength training though!
