WTF Gunslinger Girl? What sad fuck on that board put down $60+ at some import site to get a game about loli assassins?

Good stuff :lol Bad enough having a game in the list that isn't even out, but having a game that is only in japan and has no mention of a north american release (Gunslinger Girls Vol.2) is beyond retarded.

Christian Post Link

Five faith and family based organizations released the list of the top ten “worst video games” to warn unsuspecting parents and grandparents before they purchase the “blood-soaked and anti-social” presents for their children.

In a joint statement released on Nov. 23, the five groups highlighted ten video games in the worst in terms of violence:
(1) Doom 3;
(2) Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas;
(3) Gunslinger Girls 2;
(4) Half Life 2;
(5) Halo 2;
(6) Hitman: Blood Money (releases in 2005);
(7) Manhunt;
(8) Mortal Combat: Deception;
(9) Postal 2; and
(10) Shadow Heart.

All these Christian sites TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY missed out on Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. This game is entirely populated by demons and they main villian, in some views, is the Judeo Christian God.

Way to drop the ball.

Impressive that they found some import game I've never heard of to put on the list, AND include a game that no one could buy for the hoildays anyway, yet still they misspelled Mortal Kombat.

The also misspelled Shadow Heart(s). Also Shadow Heart(s) is several years old. :lol

I doubt they dropped the ball, rather they probably strategically decided not to bring extra attention to a niche small market title.

It's too bad that there seems to be no love for Gunslinger Girl, on the grounds that it's using little girls as assasins, when it was such a phucking good series. It's especially sad since the series isn't picturing the girls as mindless assasin drones used by the governement, in fact it's just the opposite, with the assasin buisness being really downplayed and the focus being a lot more on their humanity, the bonds between the girls and with their fratellos.

Maybe it's just the fact that i have no idea what a "fratello" is, but i read that as "fellatio".

Hehehe, strategically decided? Gunslinger Girl.

As did I.

Comic gets a few laughs...makes more sense with the list, but is just as funny without it.

Fratello is Italian for brother.

I saw the Gunslinger Girls anime series (which I thought was pretty average except for the great soundtrack), and I don't see any reason why a game based on it would be on that list, especially considering how unpopular it is. I would love to see the look on these people's faces when they discover hentai games.

I don't see how you can still spell Mortal Kombat with a C, not after more than a decade of sequels, but these folks obviously have some pretty complicated problems.

Kid: Mom, I want Metal Gear Solid 3, Ninja Gaiden & Bad Boys: Miami.

Mom: Let me check the Catholic No-no list... Okay! :D

Many adults who have not played video games may not realize that these 'games' will typically force an impressionable child to kill in order to 'win.' Adults buying video games for children need to understand that the game makers and retailers are not on their side when it comes to these violent video games. This fast-buck-at-any-cost mentality is something that is a real danger to kids."

mgs 3 features homosexual concubinage, torture, cannibalism (stab a corpse with the fork), sado-masochism, jiggly boobs, conspiracy theories, and moral relativism! it needs to be on that list!

in any case i'm scandalized that mgs's varicolored, baroque outrages are neglected in favor of the humdrum violence of your halos and the vulgar trespasses of your gtas. being offended is a dead art in this country. mgs 2 tried to teach our children critical theory! and it raised nary an eyebrow!

It lets you press R1 during cut scenes expressly to look at tits and ass. It obviously needs to be on the list if the list is to mean anything. :lol

There's fun for everyone, isn't that the definition of family entertainment?

If MGS2 was trying to teach me critical theory, it failed. I think I came up with some new facial expressions as a consequence, though.

My money's on the Religious Right, but in reality, my guess is that Master Chief would be fighting on Falwell's side.

I bet that brainwashed Christian group has never touched a single game on that list. When Halo manages to make it on that list, yet MGS 3, NG, and Fable are left off, there is something wrong. I agree with what drohne said about MGS 3, but do you really expect any of them to notice any of those things? I would really expect Fable to make it on a realistic because you can massacre whole towns. Too bad they left out the ability to kill the children in Bowerstone.

So what makes Shadow Hearts such an outrageous game?? The demon summoning? I never understood religious red-staters :P

The demon summoning, the violence, the gay porn (assuming they mean Covenant and not the original). MegaTen still spikes the blasphemy dial up to 11, though.
