With sustained hot weather, the winding down of schools for summer and no new releases, the market drops 10% units / 14% value over last week.

Ubisoft’s ‘Watch Dogs’ (-12%) remains on top, claiming its 5th No1 crown. Familiar faces continue to shuffle around the Top 10 with EA’s ‘FIFA 14’ up 1 to No2 (-13%), Activision’s ‘Call of Duty: Ghosts’ up 3 to No3 (-12%) and Bethesda’s ‘Wolfenstein: New Order’ remaining at No4 (-27%). 505 Games’ ‘Sniper Elite 3’ (-29%) drops 3 places to No5 followed at No’s 6 & 7 by ‘Minecraft 360’ (-3%) and ‘Minecraft PS3’ (-4%).

EA’s ‘Titanfall’ refuses to leave the Top 10 even after 19 weeks, down 3 to No8 (-24%). EA’s Battlefield 4’ continues to climb back in to the Top 10, up 1 to No9 (+2%). Nintendo climb 6 places to No10 thanks to strong sales of Wii U ‘Mario Kart 8’ (+31%). Old DS favourites from Nintendo re-enter this week at No’s 21/22 with ‘Pokemon Black’ (+127%) / ‘Pokemon White’ (+110%) thanks to some impulse price purchase initiatives.

PAL Charts - Week 25, 2014
PAL Charts - Week 26, 2014
PAL Charts - Week 27, 2014
PAL Charts - Week 28, 2014

Maybe it's a bit premature, but looking at the top 20, I feel like ps4 has the UK on lock. Probably still a bit early though.

Said it in the last thread but holy shit @ the Watch Dogs difference.

PS4 - 4th.
Xbone - 31st.

Also Minecraft on PS3 and 360 outselling Mario Kart is pretty damn funny.

The charts always annoy me because they are useless without numbers. What difference is there between #1 and #10? A few hundreds? A few thousands? Ten's of thousands? You can't extrapolate anything from them unless you know.

It is a tad early perhaps yet in the UK however MS have certainly not sat on their hands and TBH, it's changed very little. So I'm not all that sure what else they can do to change the situation in their favour. Sure they can price cut, but then Sony can, so you're back to square one. They can do a revision, again so can Sony. They can really only hope for equal sales than winning, as it stands I feel. That's their best case scenario right now.

Having 6:1 (of which is the heavily bundled Titanfall) PS4 games in the Top 20 is a pretty big difference and has to be alarming for MS.

I like how praise for Titanfall's legs or the jump from Mario Kart 8 quickly pales in comparison with Minecraft. That's not even a game but a whole different thing. Will be interesting to see what happens when it's released on current generation systems. Wonder what kind of sales boost we'll get.

Why people buy titanfall bundles, since you insist they don't care for the game. Or is it only bundle you can get?

Titanfall bundle in many retailers has the same price as the Kinectless SKU (TF bundle = Xbox + Kinect + TF).

Why people buy titanfall bundles, since you insist they don't care for the game. Or is it only bundle you can get?

Because its the best deal all around. You almost get the game for free since the price differentials with the basic XB1+Kinect sku are nearly the same many places.

Saying the game has "legs" when its obviously carried by bundles is silly. We have had this debate a million times before and someone always sees the chart and actually believes the game on its own is selling this well.

I think at this point it's just the fact that people have accepted that Minecraft is the biggest thing out there. It's just not interesting to make point of the fact when constantly being on top is the rule rather than the exception.

Minecraft is not 59£ software. Useless comparison.

Must not be very much difference in the ranks for the UK. BF4 combined SKUs are at #9 even though the highest single SKU is #28. Meanwhile MK8 is #10 on the combined side versus #3 as a single SKU.

I know it's bundles mainly, I was just stupidly counter trolling. But it still sells well, there are tons of people playing it, it's just that bundles raise it even higher. And even though I do defend TF alot, I know it will lose oot of players when big MP games of the fall hit stores.

Minecraft is a phenomenon, but it also helps that it is priced somewhere around £11, so it's practically an impulse buy for everyone even slightly interested in it.

Watch Dogs, MK8, Tomodatchi are really good sellers. In some of the countries, also Inazuma Eleven confirms its status with the first real 3DS episode.

Not all retailers sell it for £349, but even then the price is still not that high (£359-£369). It's the best deal to get Xbox.

In my local supermarkets (Tesco, Asda) the Titanfall bundle is the only way to buy an Xbox One. It's really odd.

I went there the other day looking for the Kinectless one, but all you can buy is the Titanfall one.

I'm seriously wondering how much the Titanfall bundle represents the overall Xbox One sales. Given the current environment (and the current period - Summer - ), Titanfall could be around 5,000 - 6,000 units sold weekly; and there's a good change something like 85-90% of those sales are due to the bundles. But how much of the overall Xbox One sales are represented by these bundles? We will never know, right? :(

EA laughing all the way to the bank with that TF deal. Getting a platform holder to buy copies in bulk and advertise the game. Goes without saying that MS is eating the costs.

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, Shopto offer finance options now? Why was I not told of this? O.o

Hmm, I guess I can shell out for a PS4 now to join my XBO.

I don't understand, I thought software sales from bundles count in UK no matter the shop.

No, they do. I was just referring your post about the Titanfall Bundle costing less than the Kinectless XBO.

Ah, OK. It's an old info I saw few weeks ago, same price as Kinectless SKU, so I thought it's probably still true for now. But I could be wrong.

There was a discount for the Titanfall Bundle a month ago around E3 time where it was the same price as the Kinectless. That seems to be finished now.

It might be a useless comparison if you measure revenue but by that measure Minecraft would still come out on top. It'll be interesting to see if Minecraft ends up the best selling game (both in terms of units and revenue) for PS4/XBO.

then why isnt the Top Ten always covered with 5 to 20£ Games? Useless Statement. Minecraft sold more units this week with 2 different SKUs than MK8, it was more popular, thats it.

And with Nintendo Sales philosophy its even FREE! (because you can get 1 free copy of another WiiU fullprice game)

IMHO Nintendo should lower their fullprice games to shift WIIU's

It would have been huge for either Sony/MS to get exclusive marketing deal for Minecraft on new consoles.

I think at this point it's just the fact that people have accepted that Minecraft is the biggest thing out there. It's just not interesting to make point of the fact when constantly being on top is the rule rather than the exception.
Aye, it's a beast. Same on the App Store too, it's always at the top of the 'paid' charts.

Fucking fair play too. Original software with a lot going for it.

I actually don't see the point Wii U games unlike 3DS don't actually maintain their price points. You can almost always find them somewhere fairly cheaply,
