PAL gamers -- game.net & gameplay.com further reductions on sales + XBL SK for £20

Just bought Disgaea...did I do any good? I only read a review once from IGN and it sounded nice but I never played a game like that.

Nice to see a couple of people found the links useful. It was meant to be bring joy not sadness, sorry radiohead!

Listen to iapetus! I'm not a huge SRPG fan myself but after selling Disgaea in December (with the intention of selling my PS2 at the time) I had to repurchase at £16. Get hooked and hours of play will seem like minutes, the script is ridiculously witty and the graphics charming, though rudimentary. The game isn't particularly tough so should be fine for a n00b to the genre.

Koei (the games publishers in Europe) have set up the website tacticalrpg.com recently for Disgaea and the other nippon ichi games they are about to bring out. Make sure to download the free strategy guide.

A sign saying the sale would be over "this week" when I popped into Game today. The smallish store didn't have the same range as the website but a fair few were available all with the extra 20% off. YMMV.

Gamestation in-store have a handful of new games really cheap. The gems at a fiver were: Armed & Dangerous (Xbox) & Maximo vs Army of Zin (PS2). Other games at the price included Drakengard, RTX: Red Rock, Judge Dredd, Shadowman 2 and Mace Griffin (all PS2).

Neither site ships to where I live :( I wanted to get the 16GBP SF:AC offer..
*looks at list on game.net site*..... Antarctica? Mars? :p Seriously though it must be a bummer and GAF western Europeans moan all the time :|

Thanks CJa,
I knew it would be worth styling it out for a price drop on XBL. I wonder why it has gone down in price? and if there'll be any problems tranfering accounts to Xbox 2. We'll see in 5/7 months time I guess

I doubt it. Microsoft said a while ago that they intend to use Live for pc's as well... dunno what became of all that though.

I haven't heard about the PC thing Phantom (could be interesting).
The reason I mentioned about the compatiblity thing because I think (and I could be wrong) XBL uses the HD. I haven't been following much about the hardware spec for Xbox 2. I just remember that there was long threads about if xbox2 would or wouldn't have a HD. If it doesn't, won't that render XBL useless?

Well I'm not sure how much live uses the hdd. Its obviously gonna need some form of storage for downloadable content, and the live account itself has to be stored somewhere. However there is deffinitly going to be some sort of memory storage (be it memory card or hdd or something else) but for now this is all just speculation untill microsoft announces specs.

Regarding the PC aspect of live, I can't remember where I read it I think it was an old issue of edge in which case its about 300 miles away from me so I can't really check (plus I cba going through every issue of edge I have from the last 3-4 years to find it :p)

Mine certainly did. I dropped in today, and picked up Bombastic and Viewtiful Joe for £8 each. Both out of stock on the GAME website.

If its just the current stock they have on sale it may not be worthwhile but thought I'd post it anyhow.

They're both currently in-stock online, stuff on the website seems to flit in and out of stock all the time.

Unfortunately there's nothing of worth in the Gameplay sale. Couldn't find two games I wanted, let alone a third one worth getting free. :(
