I think this actually looks sick for $199. Palmer is talking about "powerful" AMD hardware but I wonder what that actually means. Takes original carts and upscales for modern displays.

And they are publishing games for it as well? Anyone here buy one of his gameboy clones?

and look, they have a proper N64 controller that supports the left+center grip...

you know, THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE FOR THE ICONIC ASS FPS TITLES OF THE N64

"powerful" when it comes to FPGA is in the number of logic elements. the de10-nano (MiSTer) has 110k LE.

analogue pocket has 64k total
analogue 3d has 220k but it is completely locked down, we may never get any extra cores.

my guess is that the m64 will contain 250k+ LEs.

A $200 FPGA console like this that can play original N64 carts and also run other retro systems cores is definitely relevant to my interests

Never played around with FPGA, but I thought by the nature of the tech that it was re-programmable, so if they say no more cores are coming does that mean no one can produce more cores or that they aren't.

Is the device physically locked down from getting new cores?

it means that nobody can without a jailbreak. It is rumored that the megaSG and superNT jailbreaks were leaked by Analogue themselves. Personally, even if it was jailbroken, i doubt I would care enough to get one when MiSTer is completely open, and M64 are openly supporting additional cores.

MiSTer FPGA? No. Analogue 3D? No. It's ModRetro M64 news time as the maker of the ModRetro Chromatic FPGA handheld has finally revealed more details about a new Nintendo console not made by Nintendo...forget the Switch 2...it's ModRetro M64 time! With a $199 price tag which is wild. Will it be the ultimate retro gaming console for N64? Will Analogue 3D worth it questions get asked more? Who knows!

But now we have confirmation M64 runs more cores than N64, the price point will remain the same...and more! plus new photos, details and the ModRetro M64 controller!

Now with way more details too!
