Paper Mario 2... rare?

A new copy of this game still pitches a high price on Amazon.

I also notice the game is starting to disappear from store shelves (like Best Buy).

Paper Mario get?

Not rare. The only reason you can't find it at BB any more is because it was clearance priced ($10 iirc).

It could also be that it was temporarily pulled because the player's choice version is coming out soon. I noticed that Nintendo does that a lot. It makes it difficult to buy the non-players choice version for the player's choice price.

I can't remember the last disc game that sold over 600,000 copies that was rare.

It's only been a year since its release. The price will drop.

No Nintendo-published GC game is ever going to be rare, except maybe Geist.

I'll never understand the disparity there. :(

On topic, Paper Mario 2 is one of the Cube's greatest games, IMO. Absolutely worth $20, every GC owner should grab it at that price, although I was more than willing to buy it at release.

Paper Mario 2 is the best Super Mario RPG. Backtracking wasn't so hot, but the game was pretty awesome overall. I heart Intelligent Systems.

People don't want yearly sequels (unless you're a sports fan).

I just bought Paper Mario today for $30. If this too much? :[

Yes. But don't worry about it, it's worth it. I even thought it was worth it the first time I bought it, and that was at full price.

TWO years between Prime and Prime 2, my man.
Oh yeah, that's right.

The bombardment of "too many quality games" in 2003 & 2004 might have downgraded MP2's sales. I say this year would of been the best time to release the game.

I was pleasantly surprised from my experience of playing Mario & Luigi this year. Paper Mario 2 should prove (i hope) to be equally entertaining.

Sonic Adventure 2 for Dreamcast...

don't know how the heck that happened, but I feel stupid selling my new copies a few months ago for $39.99 and $49.99

If I had known how scarce they were I would have put them up for sale at a higher price...

There are some games like that where there are tons of copies on the market, but nobody bothers to keep them sealed, so the few that are kept that way go for a lot of money. All of the out-of-print Ridge Racer games fall under that umbrella - I paid $33 for a sealed RR64 and expect to pay at least twice as much for Ridge Racer longbox, RRR, and Rage Racer.

This thread reminds me I haven't finished Paper Mario yet... (I'm missing the last star I think)... I'll do it in winter break...

Is there any intelligent gamer who doesn't? :)

I don't think there's a game they have developed that I DON'T love. Just recently, I got addicted to Pokémon Puzzle League, and up until yesterday, I didn't know the original idea (Tetris Attack) was developed by them! I definitely heart Intelligent Systems. :D

How well did the first Paper Mario sell? I ended up selling that for almost full price a couple years back. Of all my N64 games, I think I only sold Ogre Battle 64 for more.

PM sold 500,000 copies in the US.
